BF2 1.5 patch on 1 September

Anyone noticed a lot of snipers getting headshots during the go prone animation?

One got me in mid-air with an SVD earlier - something very dodgy about it to say the least.

Nade spamming is annoying me as well, hardly ever used them. Although I did kill an entire 6 man squad yesterday with one grenade - They were US, I was MEC on Karkland, just neutral'd Hotel to provoke them, 6 of them came towards me, shot one guy & they must've all been medics because they all dived on his body to revive him (which of course already had a live nade cooking underneath)
 
I give up, all I seem to spend my time doing is front, sky, floor, backwards, sky, *bang*, *dead*... Stupid flipping lag... :(

When it's not playing up I do get a few kills, but still can't work out how I seem to empty a whole clip into people and they don't die, yet they turn round and fire a single shot from the same weapon and i'm dead...

I don't mind 'nades too much, however sometimes they get excessive.
 
When I am in power, you will only be allocated one grenade, oh and tiny little regenerating ammo packs will not give you another 5 grenades.

Bloody spammers.
 
Okay, starting to feel annoyed with this game now. Nade spam has always been an issue, but has this patch altered the effectiveness of them or something? Seems much worse- especially on Infantry servers.

Some maps need fixing. Take Blue Pearl (was this from one of the expansion packs?). I played this, and at first it worked fine on several severs, but now people have worked out a winning tactic as Chinese, which makes it unplayable for the US team.
Essentially, the Chinese team spawns close to the Temple, mainly Anti-Tanks, with a few medics and support gunners too. Most of the players rush the temple and take positions around the steps and on either side. You have another group heading to the bridges stopping boats getting to the most northern control point, and a group to the south around the docks there. The 'wall' of anti tankers stops any boats getting close to landing, and so the Chinese hold all the points. This could be fixed if the usable area of the map wasn't so small.

The =BIB= server does have the occational r tard that drive in a tank but they are soon Kicked!

CANDYS have been around for years from way back in 2005/06 and I've have some great battles, the map cycle is good too.

I play as [OcUK]Siver_Fox. so join me through the OcUK X-fire community or on 1 of the 3 servers above, I'm fully mic.'d and a alrate player but somewhat selfish at times but I'm an excellent Medic.

lol, CANDYS is still the only server I'm banned from, have been for years. All because after being kicked I went back on to ask them why.
 
It stands for Dead soldier training as you've not played in ages, Like a re enlistment notification for us vets. Once you've played for 10 days in a row it's auto removed to show you're no longer Nubtastic.
 
Are there any tweaks to improve hit detection?

Im getting sick of lining up my cross-hair onto someone's head, only for none of the bullets to hit. Do i need to be aiming in a certain place, like you do on CS?

Im sure i used to be better than iam now, its really depressing to fire off a full clip and not one bullet hit from range.
 
There was one but it was debatable as to whether or not it worked and if so how much difference it actually made.

But the patch is meant to improve hit detection and make it less reliant on ping now, and IMO I have found it to be a lot better. But then I have heard people say they feel it is worse. One thing I did hear is that it is a lot more sensitive to your screen res now, as in making sure you run at the correct res/ratio.

Another thing to try/get used to, is switching to single shot when at distance. If you see a target at distance and they haven't seen you and you know you are fairly safe it is always worth trying single shot as a lot of weapons are only going to take about three/four good shots to take someone out. It's also easier to deal with the recoil/deviation.

Closer up it depends on the weapon, some you can just rip it, others work better in bursts.

Maybe forget the head shots for a bit and go for more body shots while you get used to the way BF2 is Vs other games you may have played.
 
I've noticed this poor hit detection issue has been a (percieved..:confused:) problem in ALL the BF games....right from the start in 2002 with BF1942.

Its just never felt quite right.......

All i know is if the guns were as useless in real life as they sometimes are in the game, soldiers would (try) to shoot the designers...
 
I am so glad SkyBB sorted out my internet connection! It would have taken my ages to download 1.9GB at 200kbps! Speed has increased to 500kbps which is much better!

Oh, how i have missed this game! Widescreen is awesome, though they should have added it AGES ago! And there are loads more servers now with plenty of people on there.

I'm up for a game tonight if anyone is intrested.
 
Complete Collection pack arrived this morning, although I guess it's kind of useless now considering you get all the expansions for free?

I'm hoping I don't have issues playing, like a few people have already reported in this thread.
 
All those complaining about hit detection - are you coming from MW / WAW by any chance?

Sub-Machine guns & automactic rifles are not sniper rifles for the first 10 shots in this game, try shooting in 1-3 bullet bursts depending on target range.

If you hold down an automatic weapon, you'll be lucky to hit anything beyond 15 yards.
