Night out in Exter?

I've sinced moved from Newton Abbot to Bristol but used to go out in Exeter a bit with work mates:

The Imperial, Walkabout, Hogshead and Pitcher & Piano aren't too bad for pubs and Timepiece is a relatively good nightclub. They do good burgers outside :D

Whatever you do DON'T go to Rococo's (nightclub). It's utterly horrible and your shoes won't be going home with you as they'll have stuck to the floor :p
 
Ok, thanks for heads up.

Still not 100% sure what is going to be the plan, but I will be spending saturday fishing with some mates and then we are heading over that way to have a good old knees up (Stag weekend).
 
I always thought Exeter was just the name of the place where the M5 ended and we got stuck in traffic jams as a kid in my grandparent's old Volvo on the way to Torquay, it was only when I went down there myself I found otherwise :D
 
I went to uni in Exeter. Fantastic place. Another vote for the Imperial then into Timepiece. There are some nice new bars in the new Princesshay now - Exeshed is nice.

Boxes and Warehouse is full of chavs. Rococos seems to attract a similar crowd.

I'd go with teh_captain's advice, all of those are good places to be. :)

Seems to change every few months.

To be honest, the Quay isn't a nice place to be at night - there's that absolute dump of a club opposite. Used to be called Volts, not sure what it's called now - I don't go down there any more as i'd probably end up with a knife in my face. :(

ahh those were the days :)

Start at Imperial, it's dirt cheap, then either just end up staying there all night (as we did on a mates recent stag) or wonder into town.

Timepiece is about the best you'll get to clubbing though.
 
Timepiece for late drinking/dancing! Although I got a bit lost in there after too many beverages...

Also it seemed that loads of pubs in Exter had crazy BOGOF offers on drink... and even BOGT(two)F!
 
definitely go to timepiece. there are some really nice pubs down that way (double locks, mill on the exe and the old firehouse (?) - but i wouldn't recommend these for a saturday night out) but would probably head to the imperial beforehand.
 
Was at uni there from 03-06. Don't know how much it has changed but avoid timpiece / arena / warehouse (now boxes or something?). All chav infested and cheesy.

The cavern is where it's at...

Im thinking we are going to need some fodder as well before the beves. The stag loves his chineese, so can anyone recommend one?
