£77.35 think i'll try these next time

Dont blame you mate, I hear the P Zero's arent all that great for what they cost, i was looking at them, but like you, went with the Goodyears. Mainly because of their wet handling, something my current front tyres are seriously lacking on!

front's were about £90 each - 215/40/17 F1 GSD3
rear's were about £110 each - 245/40/17 F1 GSD3

that was a couple of years ago though

just paid £243 for a pair of Vredstein Sessantas in 235/35/19

Contisport Contact 3 255/35/19 = ~>£200/corner fitted :(

They're the same size as mine, but the vredstein's did much better in the evo trye test last year, and cost £120 a corner versus £200 a corner

no brainer for me.

£29quid a corner for 185/14's... Git!!.. I paid £45 a corner for Firestones on my Civic!... gonna have to keep these in mind when I need new ones!..

£71 for a Falken FK452 + fitting! 205/50/17 93w

Edit: Now fitted. £81 including fitting.

Last pair was only a few weeks ago when I had a sidewall gash on the tyre. £78 each for Kumho KU31's.

Anybody buying contisport 3s

have a read of the evo tyre test (http://www.liam27.com/stuff/EVO_TyreTest_2007_GTI.pdf)

Considering they are actually some of the most expensive tyres you can buy, they are a complete rip !

Hardly a complete rip they came 3rd the PS2s are more expensive but don't score as high. They normally come within the top 2 or 3 in tyre tests so aren't a bad tyre. They are pricey but then the whole of the range is compared to other makes.

they are when you consider the price. Im not saying they are a bad tyre, im just saying they are a complete rip off

The Vredsteins and the f1s are both better tyres for much much cheaper

a bit more expensive i could understand, but they are like 33 % more than the F1s but not nearly as good.

What's the wear like on F1s or Vredsteins?

I need some new rubber in 225/45/17 XL W or Y rated. Blackcircles prices:

£103 - SP Sport Maxx (Y rated)
£104 - PZero Nero or Rosso (W rated)
£105 - F1 Asym (Y rated)
£112 - CSC 3 (W rated)
£122 - CSC 3 (Y rated)

Camskill have the Ultra Sessenta (Y rated) for £83. Factor maybe £12 a corner for fitting and it's handy saving... depending on life-span. Previously, CSC 2 or CSC 3 have listed around 15/16k on the front.

F1s are quite bad on wear, supposedly some have had as little as only 5k to a set.

my vredsteins have had 6000 miles of torture at the hands of a 300bhp front wheel drive saloon and still got plenty of tread left, dont see them lasting much more than 10k however.

So vredsteins should last nearly as long as your Contisports

cant see the F1s doing that.
