Dark days are coming :)

Funcom made my favorite MMO, Anarchy Online.
I like what I hear about this game.

Edit: Deleted a Funcom rant:p

Although it looks good I'm not going to touch anything by Funcom. I've wasted too much money and effort in there bug ridden rubbish in the past.

Anarchy Online was awful on release. Table-cloth effect graphics, not being able to do quests, laggy, a ton of Crash To Desktop, etc. Whilst Age of Conan wasn't as bad it was still one of the buggiest MMO's on release with items on the box not actually in game (DX10, etc.). The design (i.e. zoning) was awful as well.

The only way I'll ever play a Funcom game again is about 6 months after release and after thoroughly playing a trial.

Trailer is awesome, but as any PC gamer knows, ANY dev house can make a good trailer to drum up excitement about a bad or average game. Mark of Chaos being a prime example...

Cinematics look good, but everything else reminds me of Left 4 Dead (zombie game on steam).

Funcom + Anything = Massive let down

It's a cinematic trailer, explain how in any shape or form that can make a game promising.

exactly what i was thinking when i read comments such as
WOW

Good trailer.
trailer of what exactly? its like basing your opinion on WOW from the WOTLK cinematic which has very little in common with the game even if it does look cool.

i wouldnt even call it a trailer trailers should show the game not some stupid CGI movie

omg wow a trailer
could be good, could be pap. only time will tell
and yeah. makes me think of the vids from RF Online tbh

That's what my rant was about, but deleted it.
Mostly they banned me for changing address four times and credit cards 3 times. All were my/my dads card as I was too young back then to own one and actually did move four times :/

As well as in-game support, Arks/GM were snobby barstewards and they actually let ninja-looting happen.

However, I loved the game, yes it was buggy but they patched it many times and often in those first few weeks. Back then MMO's were not that popular as they are now and stuff like that wouldn't be tolerated.

You must agree Anarchy Online has things most mmo's today lack, like over-equipping and proper twinking that requires a good sit down and a calculator ;) Not just "right click at the correct level".

I still play AO now, only a few times a week with friends doing old school RK stuff/missions, none of this boring SL heckler pap.

Did the online test the other day and it came up with Iluminati for me......

Its and interesting idea for an mmo, with the PvP and PvE taking place in 2 different "realms".....Surface and Hollow Earth........

Will wait and see what buzz the game generates when they have a bit more than a sexy trailer to show.......

I'll give it a bash purely because of the setting / concept. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt purely for daring not to be fantasy based.

As for Funcom, well, they fired the guy in charge of Conan, and AO was an excellent game (eventually :D) so we'll see.
