PSP Firmware (v6.00) Update

Does the PSP support connecting to WPA2 yet?

Last I checked it was WEP only :(

You sure you're not thinking of the DS?

My PSP has been connected to my wireless using WPK for years (admittedly not WPA2, though aren't they "backwards compatible"?).

Nope, 100% the PSP.

The mrs bought me one last year and it's been gathering dust because I can't connect to the wireless network.

Hmm, odd, because mine definitely is working on a WPK encrypted wireless network. My brother's does too.

I'm totally confused by your security remark. To hack a wireless connection you'd need to be in range of the connection. You living next to a blackhat conference location or something? :D

Is it that easy to hack WPA 64 character codes?

hm what needs securing though? i mean i dont run any encryption on my wifi just a mac address filter so only my specified devices casn access my network!

Spoofing a MAC address is a trivial affair, and one of the worst forms of protection shortly followed by hiding the SSID :p
