EA bribing game reviewers

Oh, no I hadn't -just looked at pics and skimmed article. Ok, maybe I am the stupid one here, but how can a check like that be bankable?

Even if it is genuine - still a great idea :)

Even a handwritten note is legally usable as a cheque, though you might have some problems cashing it - or at least that was the case 15 years ago when I did commercial law.

OMG EA ARE EVIL

YOU KNOW WHO THEIR CEO IS? HITLER THATS WHO!
Or possibly even...

GIRL HITLER!

Muggs, you spun that the way you wanted it to sound.

This has nothing to do with bribery. It's a publicity stunt. In fact, the whole point (The message) is "Cash this check - you're going to hell". "Don't cash it..."

To be honest I found it quite a good publicity thing from EA :) It's obviously not a bribe, although one could see it as a dig at reviewers who do take bribes. But they should have cashed it, they could have done something decent with it - like buying the game 3 or 4 times and giving them away, or a charity donation or whatever.

Still, if it were me I'd have cashed it. Would make up for some of the tripe that I've bought from EA over the years.

nah i missed a question mark at the end of the title. the original had one on (just noticed).

i thought the message read cash the cheque surrender to greed dont cash it surrender to wastefulness.

anyway i still think theres deffos some semi hidden bribery action going on in the background. why were the cheques only sent out to games reviewers? because they would get better publicity? or maybe get a better review aswell. why not normal members of the public or at least public members who always register their ea games(so ea knows their details).

to me its like game reviewers get a 2ton cheque from a ea for nothing, might not seem like a lot but i bet it is to certain ppl, one of those peeps might be a game reviewer who got the cheque and now is so happy that his review of the game will be influenced by the 200....subconscious bribery ha :p

you know i think its both...a pub stunt and bribery

anyway i guess we will probably agree to disagree :p
