Hiya's,
Dunno where else this post would fit so here goes ...

I'm after someone to value my dead brothers honda bike, as far as i know the battery just needs charging and she's good to go (which i'll do soon)

It had a stood-still fall about 2yrs ago, my brothers leg slipped on autumn leaves at a T junction and as he was built like a twig the bike got scraped on one side (engine casing and also cracked an indicator) the indicator works obviously it's just cracked on the small stalk, the casing i had offered time n time again to resurfice but he always refused

I dunno if anyone on this section of the forum knows about bikes but it's on the V5 as : Honda CBR1100X-2 date of reg 01 03 2003 (1137cc)

I suppose i'm posting in the hope someone might know a forum i could join to explain the situation and get a bike enthusiast to come value it and thus sell it rather then break it

Any suggestions much appreciated :)

There are quite a few bikers on here, I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction and help you out :)

I've just told him what its worth, a top nick 2003 Blackbird is worth anywhere between 3750 and 4500 depending on miles.

He has a bashed one, Its worth 3 and a bit k.

If he posts a picture of the damage, i'll give him a better figure.

Hiya's,
It reg'ed in 2003, will check v5 later but i think my bro was 2nd owner

As for damage, off the top of my head.... front 1 indicator stalk damaged/cracked (passed mot's since though) 1 side engine casing cover where the Honda name is is scratched, maybe a crack on visor surround area (he was built like a twig, stopped at a T junction and all wet autumn leaves on road, his foot slipped and down went the bike on him, passed a few mot's as-is so nowt major obviously, also he had it serviced with new chain sprokets etc 2008)

He sorned it late dec 2008 as he wouldn't take what he called charity for the family to insure/mot/tax it again

Battery is off for charging but can always get a new one

He did spray it all in a gloss black 2k resin coat (i tried teaching him spraying but he still loved his tig welding)

Can check mileage later but i'm sure it's not too high

Can take pics etc, thing is it's the first thing our mom sees when she gets up and has breakfast out the back of the house, and now after the funeral with an inquest to be set, as a family we decided another enthusiast biker should make use of it rather than being broken by a breaker

Cheers

Yeah obviously the new paint would drop value

It has to seen in pics i guess, the items he sprayed under my supervision were (again if mem recalls) the whole parts that make up the fairing, rear seat/tail section

It still has the protective cover on the tank that he used for touring/charity bike runs etc

What he/we sprayed were basicly all fairing plastics and tail end

Maybe get time to take detailed pics sunday

Just we'd rather a biker have it not a breakers yard

Ohh she does go pretty fast if you've ever ridden one :) and he had no trouble, only usual wear n tear on chain etc, new tyres on her too when new chain/sprockets went on

Well at worst i guess it's pics n full disclaimer details and fleabay it which still saves it from the breakers

Cheers
