Not in the literal sense, but when I listen to Bach I feel so moved that it is comparable to a religious experience.

Others on here must know what I mean.

Which band, artist, composer or piece of music moves you to the same extent?

Brian Eno for me probably. Particularly "An Ending (Ascent)" and basically a lot of the "Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks" album.

For emotional/religious experience: Bach, Allegi, Tallis, Handel, da Vittoria and Libera.

For raw emotion: Beethoven and The Fureys.

I'm a Christian anyway, but music with lots of vocal harmonies really affects me. That's what the singing in heaven will sound like. Also, canon rock as played by mattrach. If Jesus ever decided to play the guitar, it would sound like that.

An Ending is such a wonderful piece of music. So simple yet so sublime.

Little Spanish Flea - Herb Alpert

But seriously

Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
The Planets - Gustav Holst (specifically "Jupiter" and "Mars")

The Planets is brilliant! One of my most favourite classical compilations of music. Venus is also very good.

Ennio Morricone's Gabriel's Oboe from "The Mission" is priceless as well. Definitely worth a watch, listen I mean. ;)

John Murphy's Surface of the Sun from "Sunshine" is astonishing as well. It captures the God like essence of the Sun brilliantly.

I could go on forever, but have a listen to those anyway ;)

Ah, you can't beat a bit of classical. Bach and Handel I find too puritanical, but still a big fan of. Schubert I find more emotional:

I defy anyone to listen to the Bulgarian State Radio & Television Choir and not be moved:

For something more recent, I'll chuck in UNKLE's Heaven:
