hi, just been to the purple shirted game shop and asked about mw2 and was told they'll be opening at midnight for the release, which i thought was fair enough. untill i heard it was going to cost £55.

£55, not just on the consoles but on the pc too. apparently activision are charging retailers £50 so forcing the retailers to charge £55.

anyone else heard this? is there any truth in it.

Haha, what a joke. Most pirated game in 2007 and the sequel will be the most pirated game in 2009. Morons.

Yeah the RRP is around that. But a keen googler can easily find for sub £30 from online stores.

That's ridiculous pricing! Sure, it does look quite good and if we base it on COD4 then I'm sure it'll live up to most of it's hype but £55? No thank you, I'll wait till it drops in price a bit, although because of the great demand there will be for it then that could be a while. :(

no worries there, as soon as i got home i pre-ordered it for £35.

i just couldn't believe what i was hearing, £55 pound for a pc game!!

gives them no arguement against piracy if they want to charge that.

was a big thread about it and no its not 55 pound only at donut shops or if you dont look around.

the 55 is rrp but most places have it on sale for 30.00 like it will be

Dont see the point in pirating a title like this.

Your not going to be able to play the multiplayer component, and the single player campaign will probably only last 6-10hrs or so.

Without online play, its nothing.

I am pretty sure some games even allow pirated games to play online.

Well yeah there will be a some cracked servers, as there always is....but you still wont get ranking scores, and besides, by there very nature, cracked servers will be full of hacking cheats...

Cheapest I can find cod is 23.99. I thought Bioshock 2 was supposed to be coming out 10 days before this on the 31st october? Now its 2010? :(

That's the place I pre-ordered it from, not sure how much I trust them though, it's an odd website and their ordering system was crap. Might just cancel and order from the 2nd-cheapest one instead.

pricing is stupid, resident evil 5 on steam 26 quid with 10% off, then sumwhere else i saw it for 18 quid lol and wolfenstien is more expensive than that

£55 might be the rrp and you can buy it cheaper online but as far as the shop staff were concerned, come their midnight opening the price will be £55.

A lot of developers are looking at this to see if the game still sells well - if it does expect future price increases. There was a lot of moaning about how the price of games hasnt changed in years, increasing development costs etc.

Many many people don't play multiplayer, myself included. I usually take about 2 weeks to finish any game I play as I play them in short sittings. I never like any CoD online play and only play CSS for my online shooting 'needs'. Anyway, saw it for £29 at an online etailer and that's where I will be buying. One pound more than that and I will 'aquire' the game and they lose out.
