If you don't mind having a monster on your desk and it's fully working with no scratches on the screen then yes, decent crts still outperform modern flatscreens in image quality and input lag (they have none).

Might be worth finding out what tube it has as well, think trinitron and diamondtron are the best.

the monitor seems an ok spec but its not something i would buy....depends on ur budget really though.
if u have the money then why not go for 1 of the 120hz tft monitors...u can get the sammy for abt 260 from overclockers.

i do love playing fps games on a crt but i wouldnt say the image quality is better unless ur not using the monitors native resolution.

Its the going rate really.

Bargains to be had for 21/22" monitors for £20-40 these days.

I've got a fw900 for 1600x900@120hz and 2 p1220's which do 1280x1024@120hz.

120hz crt for the win!!! at least in fps games :p

Considering these monitors cost like 1000£ + some years ago, the depreciation is over the moon to be had, especially when likes of FW900 is still better than the best LCD's for PQ / motion. Send me one please!

Agreed :)

OP: You want a minimum of 1024 @ 100Hz. Lemme rephrase that. You want a minimum of 100Hz at whatever resolution maketh you a pr0 gamer. I ran 1024 even I had a 19", it was tidy. There are monitors out there that will do over 140 @ 1024.

Personally, I can't tell the difference over 100Hz but some may be able to.
I've also tested that new TFT with the glasses thing. It's better than any other TFT I've used but it aint a patch on a good flat CRT.

To the OP.Is that a diamond pro or trinitron tube cos they're regarded as the best.

The bay have some good diamond pros going very cheap.like less than £2 atm lol.

Yeah, always go for an aperture grille CRT.

Other aperture grille CRT's Mitsubishi's DiamondTron (Another name for the diamond pro) and ViewSonic's SonicTron.
