do you actually drive? other cars will be in the gap in front of the lorry in no time
Only about 12,000 miles a year. Mostly up and down the M1/M69. I pretty much always leave a big enough gap to the car in front.

not if they cut you up and then slam on the brakes.
most times i leave a healthy amount of space between me and the car in front, it will usually be filled by some numpty, and that's in a car. i can only imagine that this happens a lot more when driving an HGV
if nobody fills that gap, then it's not big enough![]()
Some people will do anything to claim and get money, just forward the letter to your insurance company and then leave it. ^^
No offense to anyone but no surprise really![]()
"No suprise really"?? Can you explain yourself a bit better maybe? Because my assumption is that you are not suprised an asian did this, which to me is offensive. It may not appear offensive from your point of view and I'm assuming you did not mean it maliciously, but what you have said is actually offensive to asian people as not all asians are "scammers".
That would be like saying "I saw someone eating some fried chicken, and not suprisingly they were black" which would be considered offensive to black people as black people are stereotyped as being fond of fried chicken. Not all black people like fried chicken, and not all people who like fried chicken are black.
Or saying "I saw a polish person the other day so I asked them if they would build me an extension to my house for cheap" which I'm sure the polish person in question would be offended by as it is a common stereotype. Not all polish people are cheap labourers, and not all cheap labourers are polish.
Or like saying "My country was invaded, not suprisingly by white people" which I assume would be offensive to whites (although possibly not to the ones proud of their actions) as not all countries that are invaded are invaded by white people, and not all white people invade countries.
These statements are quite abstract and although may sound humorous and are statistically stereotypical, they are still considered offensive.
I do not want to turn this into another racism thread, I just wanted to clarify that some statements that are made by individuals may not be intended to cause offence but they actually do.
And in regards to the OP, I hope this issue resolves in your favour as it definately sounds like a scam. I hope they get what they deserve as I'm tired of people like this giving asian people a bad name, thus contributing to the stereotypical offensive nature of others.

If someone pulls in front and they slam on their brakes then obviously its their fault.
How many times on the motorway do you see a truck sat right up the arse of a car. It maybe an immediate excuse to say they pulled in the gap but surely there must be a point where you have to slow down to maintain a safe distance. You couldnt blame squashing a car on the fact that 2 miles ago they pulled into the gap...

Don't expect any help from the police. If you reports incidence like this they make a record and file it in the bin. It's happened to my gf on a couple of occasions, drivers failing to stop and we've had number plates etc. Insurance companies aren't much better, though I hope I'm wrong in this case.We really can't believe whats happening though and how its so straight cut and dry, the Police just seem to be *shrug*
Given that is the topic under discussion, does that clearly demonstrate your point was not really relevant?
No I was talking about the motorway scenario if someone pulls into the gap in front and slams on their brakes then you cant be to blame if you run into the back of them.
Alternatively as in the OP under normal circumstances if you dont stop when someone in front stops then its your fault.
sometimes chevrons are on the road, and 2 of them = safe distance.
the chevrons are 40m apart
