I'm on the verge of ordering my new 5870 powered rig next week and I've always been a big PC gamer though I do have a XBOX360.

Now with sales of console games completely outstripping PC games, do you think that consoles will ever seal the fate of PC's?

I hope not since they really do push the technological boundaries and plain old consoles would be really dull, but do you think its ever a possibility?

Consoles will not kill the PC, devs not making games for the PC will kill it as a gaming platform. I haven't used my 360 in over a year, my PC is in the living room and if I could I would throw the TV out the window. I don't think I will ever buy a console again, unless there is a game that I must just have.

No but I do think that its glory days are over, PC's golden era for me was 1995 - 2003. The big budget exclusives are pretty much over, how ever there will be a lot more games from smaller studios and I always find those the most fun and the most innovative.
