Direct2Drive 5th Birthday Weekly Deals

I'm not going crazy. I'm really not. But it changed to War Games, and the box was done up in camo paper. Something or someone is screwing with me.

Once again, my workplace computer keeps me away from Metacritic & Gamespot and the like, so advice needed. Is Battleforge worth it? Or Mirror's Edge? Also, Supreme Commander appears on the Title Page, is that a remainder from the RTS week or something with which they haven't updated their deals page? I only ask this last one because I noticed there's been a few games added to the title page once one waits a few days. I'm not crazy.

The US one is saying Wargames, opens in 2 hours. The UK one is EA games, and a pretty sorry lot it is too. I'd go for Mirror's Edge if I didn't already have it on the 360, other than that, nothing appeals.

I was hoping dead space might have been on it. Save myself £2. :p

And I don't think RA3 is even worth the £5...

I need some gameplay footage of Battleforge to see whether it's worth it. Aha! A lightbulb has pinged over my head. I can get gameplay movies from youtube, and Metacritic/Gamespot scores from Wikipedia. Now I just need a non-game site that provides a game review. Or, could someone cut & paste the Gamespot review into an email and send it to [email protected]? I'd be grateful.

Edit: Abort. Wikipedia implies that it's a mummorpager. No thanks.

You can get Battleforge for free, it's actually a weird (but good) cross between a card game and an online RTS. You just get more cards if you pay for it.

The cards represent units you can spawn during the game, you only get to play with a set deck before you start.

Bought Mirrors Edge for £5, unfortunately the download from direct2drive is rubbish. But what I did is use the cdkey I got from them in the EA Download manager and got a nice 2MB/s from their servers. Win. Off to play it now.

Edit: You also get a "Bonus Content" CD when you download through the EA download manager, dunno about if you get that with the D2D servers.

The 5th week EA offer seems to be a bit of an anticlimax really, was expecting more (better) games than that

The US has World in Conflict Gold (Includes soviet assault) for $5. Pretty sweet deal compared to the UK rubbish. Got a m8 to gift me it :D

Lucky :p
I'd buy that if it was on offer for UK, one of those games I always wanted to play but never got round to getting it.
