At what age would you stop going to a club?

I find i'm going 'clubbing' more and more these days, and i'm 22 now (started when I was 17ish).

I don't really go town centre clubbing though, generic clubs, commercial cheesey music, slappers galore. All my clubbing is now done at proper events with top class DJ's banging out the tunafish. Miles better than being stuck in a club with 16 year dimps and lager louts.

Don't know how much longer I can continue going out to proper events 3-4 times a month as it is a big money drain, ticket cost, transport there and back, possible hotel, drinks etc, all does add up and they can become quite costly before you've even got to the club. Maybe I'll start to chill out sooner or later, I dunno!

I used to go clubbing loads up until I hit about 24. Go once in a blue moon now, I prefer going to the pub and getting my sleep. Saves loads of money too.

Have never enjoyed clubs, when I go out with mates I like to sit, have a drink and a laugh.

Clubs are crowded, hot, sweaty, full of horrible people and terrible music.

Surely it's only terrible music if you go to a club playing terrible music. Why not pick one that plays stuff you like?

I stopped going to clubs quite a few years ago. I'm not in it for getting smashed, spending a fortune, and having ringing ears for a couple days anymore. I'm 27 btw.

Stoppped going about 2 yrs ago...im 36 now but honestly those places dont interest me anymore...now ill end up in a pub or bar if anything but i did my clubbing back in my 20's...not my scene anymore.

The friends I go "clubbing" with are between 36-45 (I'm 20) and they show no signs of stopping. As long as we keep enjoying it I don't think we'd stop :)

Have recently stopped going to clubs (I'm 24), mainly cos all the places around my area haven't changed in about 10 years and that includes the music they place, theres only so many times can listen to the same playlist before getting bored, got to the point were we'd start singing the next song before it even came on.

Tend to try get mates to go the Brighton for weekend but they all seem to be happy drinking themselves stupid and going to same places over and over again, oh well least im saving some money.

I went loadsa rock / goth night and clubs from age 18 to about 26 and then i grew up and got bored.

I used to live out in Hertfordshire and you didn't get a choice. The only clubs around were the cheesy, nasty commercial ones full of idiots.

It's only in big cities that someone can put on a Brazilian skiffle night and break even.

I'm 27 and still go out from time to time. only do good nights in good clubs with good dj's not like back in the day when i'd go to anything just to go out.

i'll still go as long as i'm enjoying it. was out at the weekend and chating to a 40yo couple and they still go out every weekend.

I recently went on a clubbing holiday to Ibiza. I was the youngest of our group at 24!

I go out most weekends but its generally for the music and good times rather than 'on the pull'

I've been clubbing about 10 times in my life...

I hate clubbing! I'd rather sit in a pub with a bunch of mates and have a laugh.

Funnily enough, I am able to sit and have a laugh with my mates in a club...

Let me rephrase my sentence.

I'd rather sit in a pub with a bunch of mates and have a laugh, where i can actually hear them and not have to pay and extra £1 for a pint then i would in a pub and not get bugged by some drunk woman who wants to dance with me while she's puking her guts up.

Neither would I, and thankfully something along those lines has never happened to me in a club, lol.

Stop going when you stop enjoying it. Some people prefer different entertainment than others, horses for courses :)

23 and already pretty much grown out of it. Crap music and shallow people; I don't go there for that. The only time I go to a club these days is in the company of good friends where the venue doesn't really matter.

They're just cattle-markets for people to act like idiots and try and attract a mate. Society doesn't have much in the way of social meeting grounds anymore; we live sheltered, hidden lives. Clubs have become the new Town Halls, except they're overflowing with drunken strangers who grew up in the 'me' generation. When you're 18 and overflowing with ideal, it's nice to think in naivity that clubs are 'great' places, or somewhere to meet a partner. As we slowly grow up, we realise that clubs - which by their nature tend to be generic - are the antithesis of such ideals. When such motivations are driven away with the crashing thunder of realisation, what are we left with? Music and having a little boogie for your own pleasure, and let's be honest here: society has bred a middle-class of tasteless morons. When was the last time you heard a good number one? Clubs reflect this taste in music which is as bland and as shallow as the people who habitually frequent such venues.

lol, you really are full of **** sometimes, Nix.
