*** Street Fighter IV League (Season 2) ***

Have actually had a change of mind about this. Leave me out of the is league. I don't think I have the time for this game at the moment; the practice to become competitive anyway.

I will keep an eye on this league though. Have fun with it guys and maybe see ya in the next one :)
 
Actually i was thinking about the points system too. I do agree that it needed a little tweak, and i like flibby's idea.

About character choice - how about each person choose 2 chars, A and B. When playing at Home, they can choose either, but when playing away, they must use A?

So basically it's like this:

playerA 3-0 playerB

playerA gets 6 points
playerB gets 0 points

or

playerA 3-1 playerB

playerA gets 5 points
playerB gets 1 points

or

playerA 3-2 playerB

playerA gets 4 points
playerB gets 2 points


I think that's what you mean yeah? I don't really have a problem with that.

About bonus points for perfects, the reason why I am not going to bring that in is because lets say this is the score:

playerA 3-2 playerB (2 perfects for playerB)

playerA gets 4 points
playerB gets 2 points (+2 bonus)

...which makes it 4-4 and so the table will not be able to recognise a winner. Very unlikely the above will happen I know but it still shows the system does not work, as we discovered in the last league! :p


As far as characters go, most seem in favour of 1 character, thats fine. I agree with some of flibby's points however, how about if we do as Artheas said, everyone enters with 1 character whom they must use for their home game. They must also select a second character which they can use for their away game if they wish! Maybe you lose your home game and want to try something else for your away game and you can use your second choice? Would that be better?

I've completely had enough of not having anyone to play on the PS3, and having such a poor match making system that games with randoms are non existant, that I'm defecting to the PC dark side!!

personnally i like the idea of the point systems being like:
you get a point for each round won but the winning gets a bonus of 1 or 2 points depending on what everyone agrees to.
So a 3-2 match would mean the winner gets 5 or 4 points and the loser gets 2 points
 
im interested in joining this but i need some things done to my G4WL account that can only be done on a xbox console which i dont have

I'm not sure which scoring alternative I'd go for - giving bonus points for how much you won by means the really good players will be so far ahead it isn't funny, when they win 3-0 they get 6 pts, whereas others winning 3-2 get 4....this seems like a bad idea.

I think i'd prefer just having 1 or 2 bonus points for winning the entire match, plus a point for each round for both winner and loser.

hi mate, nope I don't have an xbox. What is it you need to do? You do have sf4 on the PC right because this is PC only and you can't play cross platform PC vs 360.

I'm still deciding regarding the pointing system, appreciate more input from ppl as it may sway the decision! :)

I think just for fun and to add abit more variety I will add the option of a second choice character which you can use for your away game only, if you wish.

So please can everyone EDIT their original post and put down your reserve character. Remember you don't have to use that char, it's only if you want too. :)
 
e36 - i have the week off when this tourney starts, can i sign up for it? - still currently trying to finish the other one off!
