Excuse me sir, are you with the press?

yeah I'd imagine it's pretty much the same as what I've been used to but being able to go beyond the barriers means that you can access any area of the ground when segregation is in effect and you're also able to take a lower shooting position. Plus you won't get "excuse me sir, are you with the press" ;)

Had my press pass confirmed yesterday from the reporter I know so its a case that I'll be pitchside for Peterhead vs Brechin. As expected the weather isn't supposed to be that great tomorrow. 80 - 90% cloud cover so my iso will probably be set on 800 for most of the game...................oh and 50 odd mph winds gusting up to 70 mph

This may sound a bit stupid as I'm still learning photography and trying to find my comfort zone but my 450D isn't a year old but I'm thinking investing in say something like the 40D for the increase in ISO ratings for things like winter football as the entry level canon is looking a bit weedy. Its either spend around 500quid on a second hand 40D or around 1500 quid on a 70 - 200 f2.8

EDIT :

I guess i should look at insurance for my camera as well, and possibly to include public liability insurance with it, just in case.

Auto focus speed, frame rate and high ISO performance would all be of benefit to you.

yeah, cos at the mo when it gets overcast I have no option but to pump the iso up to get speeds around 1/500th but I reckon I need to get closer to 1/1000th to have a decent image. Bright weather i have no problem at all but what i might have to try is seeing as I can get pitchside now I could focus on goal mouth action so my focal length isn't too long putting extra pressure on the shutter speeds I can achieve but I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow :)
