Queston about connecting wireless via second PC ethernet to moddem?

Hi all,

I am wondering IF I can do the following connection?

Moddem to PC Giabyte Lan, second gigabyte lan used to output to wireless modem, wireless modem to wireless PC upstairs?

My problem is that my internet connection is useless with my Asus router. It now seems incompatable with Virgin, so even if I hardwire my main PC to teh router I am getting very poor performance.

As such I was wondering IF I could utilise two Lan ports in a main PC to rout a second internet connection to my Router to give me wireless internet connection elsewhere?

Yes, that setup can work, you would have to setup static ip addresses though.

I would just replace the router. I never knew Asus even made routers. Get a Netgear, Linksys, DLink, etc.

Yes I am thinking I may do that, I originally bought the Asus due to it's USB ports, as I had intended to use a shared printer and external hard drive for sharing on the wireless network.
