Is far cry 2 worth £10 (PS3)

I'm going to disagree with everyone here. I got round to playing it and thought it was great. In fact I'd go as far to say its unique in that its an amazing game but with some terrible design choices that bring it down to simply a "good game". I cetainly got my moneys worth with the amount of hours it offered, it only really dragged towards the end of the game.

99.99% of the population will agree that the game is total crap, I bought it for £45 pounds on realise date biggest mistake full of bugs and the MP system is crap the storyline is crap because driving the vechicle is crap because you spend 10 crapping minutes driving around which gets repetetive.

Not worth £10 maybe £2 for the price of the CD and covers but the content is not worth anything.

This pops up once a month roughly, and I think has now been classed as a marmite game.

Personally I love it, graphically it's gorgeous to look at, especially when walking through the grass and the dawning sun shines through the bushes.

Yes there's some AI issues but it's certainly not as bad as other games but no where near as good as, say, CoD.

Only gripe I had/have is with the infamous bug about the save games, I lost my save about 40% into the game (just after I'd crossed the border) and while the patch fixed it (or is meant to have), I've now hit the other bug where the Supply camps aren't dishing out missions so I won't be able to get all intel.

Other than that I think it's a great game, it's a far prettier version than Just Cause, has a huge game world to explore and a good story.

For £10 I really don't think it's a bad choice.

The widescreen fov is wrong in the console versions (zoomed in and cropped 4:3) which hasn't been fixed, the game gives me a migraine after 30-45 mins of play so i haven't got past 8% completion (only affects a few) As far as the game goes, in the limited time i managed to play it was already rather samey, plus the rebirth of every enemy at every outpost within minutes was tiresome to say the least.

The only and I mean only reason you should ever pick up Farcry 2, is it if was free... Or less (them paying you).

Truely the worst game I have played in many a year.

I played it around release and the frame rate on the 360 version was shocking, perhaps that was fixed with a patch? Might give it another go, perhaps on PC if that issue wasn't addressed.

I loved the environment, the weapons everything, but it was all ruined by the respawning and that bloody malaria. Never even got to finish it, it annoyed me that much.

plus the rebirth of every enemy at every outpost within minutes was tiresome to say the least.

This has to be the worst factor in the whole game.

Do you not think this adds a teensie bit of realism though?

I mean, in the real world, if you destroyed an outpost it doesn't automatically become a taboo place, and if it's a key location like at the intersection of a major road (as they are in FC2), it will become garrisoned again? Or is this me being picky?

I think it needs to be balanced perhaps. I think they were too frequently re-populated. Maybe every few days in the gameworld rather than what seemed hours.

Far cry 2... Off road jeep simulator, with gunplay elements and the occasional bus ride. Worth £10 purely for the graphics but the game is seriously poor.

Edit: Actually, I take that back about the graphics. Don't buy this game.
