I know this has been done over and over and is nothing new but at the weekend I decided to make my own.

Parts
1x Project Box
2x Push to make switches
1x 3.5mm Jack socket
1x 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable
1x Push to make locking switch or Toggle Switch (OPTIONAL)

Equipment
Soldering Iron
Solder
Wire
dremel type tool

I still need to add the toggle switch for when using bulb

The black switch is half press (AF) the red full press. I couldn't find any switches anything like a camera switch or knew what they were called?

Zaf,

More details and pictures required :)

I'd like to try this, I've only got a IR one at the moment, which involves me having to point it at the right part of my camera. lol

I'm going to see the Maccabees tonight so i'll do a better right up tomorrow with Internal pictures etc but there's plenty already out there if you google.

It cost just under £6 the project box was the most

My next project will be making a IR version using my own IR Reciever instead of the cameras built in one ;)

Last time I looked at building a switch based remote, it was no more expensive to buy a ready-made remote from one of the Chinamen on the well known auction site, or the place in Guernsey that sounds like they might let you shop all week.

So I decided I CBA making one. ;)

not something i'd do simply cuz an OEM one is cheap and does the job great, but kudos for doing it yourself... fair play :)
