Milk and cream

What are the girls opinions on this? do you like the feel of thick cream straight down your throat, or do you pefer to drink/eat it in a lady-like fashion? :)

I don't often do it unless I just have skimmed milk, then I might add a bit to bump it up.

One day I really want to try hot chocolate just made out of cream, no milk at all.

Just get gold top/Channel island milk. Same effect.

Personally, I can only have skimmed milk in tea/coffee or on cereal.

Exceptions are coffee - any milk up to cream is fine and Rice Crispies - any milk up to gold top is fine.

I'm picky :D.

Scones + clotted cream + strawberry jam. :D
A good cream tea can't be beaten!

In the case of milk, it has to be full fat. Once on a farm I had milk before it was pasteurised and that was absolutely amazing, no milk I've ever had has come close, it was so sweet and creamy.

Continental Europeans are weird, most of them drink UHT milk which tastes foul.

Wrong. Gold Top the brand is from Channel islands. Gold top milk however is just "gold topped" milk. We used to get it, together with full fat, when I was <10yr in London from the milkman. Twas just really rich whole milk, not from Channel islands. IRC it was pasteurised but un-homogenised. Mmmmm lumps.

It's the main reason I'm fat as I used to drink at least 2 pints of milk a day.

EDIT - I am now tempted to make my lunch Channel Island milk + cereal. FFS. Obesity!

I don't know about London but gold top milk from the milkman (not the brand) back in Devon was always from Channel Island breeds.

Now then. Clotted cream on a good Vanilla is amazing.

She loves clotted cream too, just loves her Devonshire cream teas :D

I've seen mention of 'proper hot chocolate', can anyone tell me how to make proper thick hot chocolate? This powdered rubbish just ends up like brown water.

Oh, and add a dash of Baileys to hot choc too = mmmmmm goodness :)
