I was wondering if anyone could shed experiences on 'bald spots' in facial hair growth. It's obviously all genetic but have any of you had areas you assumed weren't going to grow suddenly start? I'm 21 and now go from shaven to stubble annoyingly fast but have a complete bald area around the bottom and sides of my mouth, nothing grows there at all. Is it likely to ever grow or is that just my genetics? I work with a guy who's 33 and has really patchy stubble all over the place, so I'm under the assumption I'm just never going to be able to grow anything remotely cool without looking like wolverine or a frenchman.

It's weird, as a kid I think I was just under the impression that everyone can grow a full beard if they wanted.
 
lol,, well im 28 and if i dont shave for 3-4 days i still have areas down the side of my face that dont grow hair
 
I have the same problem, two bald patches on the right side of my chin, around the size of a 5p piece each. However I had two very badly rotten teeth about 8 years back inside my mouth in the exact same places, always assumed that had caused the facial baldness.

It's frustrating at the age of 30 and can't grow a full beard!

Front of my chin under my lip, just does not get hair at all, which is soooo annoying. Rest of my face gets a full on beard in about 90 seconds after shaving, but nooooo not the front of my chin :mad:

However it is not a bad thing as my chinwig grows ginger :eek: (even though I have dark brown hair... :( )

I had to nuke my own face from orbit when I noticed.
 
I get this incredible aggravating ginger hair right in the middle of my chin, it's very light in colour so its really obviouse, I pluck it and melt it with a lighter to better show my contempt.
 
I can grow a full on beard, no bald patches, however for some reason when my beard reaches a certain length it changes colour from dark brown to ginger :(

Exactly what mine does.

Goes from Dark brown stubble -> Tabby -> Ginger... :mad:
