Picking up new car next weekend :D

It's up to him now. He knows the full history of the car and if he's willing to accept it for it's faults then it's up to him. Personally I would ask for a significant discount or I'd walk away.

are u willing to ask for a large discount and then walk away if they dont give it?

IF not you might as well just take the full payment and bend over when u arrive:/

i wouldnt buy an ex showcar, i just wouldnt. for the money u have, find a better one. IMO.

If you'd like to clarify how I've made myself look stupid to the whole forum feel free and Fox, why would i want to reply to your thread anyway? My whole point is that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it, but you seem to enjoy bashing people in their "Hey guys, I've bought a new car" threads.

your a retard. he hasnt BOUGHT THE CAR he has just put down a deposit. he can get out now and lose next to nothing, everything you said int his thread made no sense whatsoever.

Funny thing is ive just spotted another one, 6 months newer, better spec (climate control, parking sensors etc) with 27k, 1 previous owner for 10995. Question is are they likely to offer me the same for my car, probably not. So then cost to change would still be the same.

This car sounds much better.

Remember what I said earlier in the thread. You have a tradein. Therefore what they offer you and what they sell you the car for is irrelevent.

COST TO CHANGE is all that matters here.

View the other one. It sounds like a more honest car, IMHO.

Depending on the deal, I'd but this newer car tbh. Although you have done a good job tracking down the change in owners, we still don't know why the last two got shot in such a short time. Sorry, don't mean to be all doom and gloom.

You have the money, you aren't in a rush so you have time to make a good choice - I'd find a goodun with no question marks hanging over it.

Good luck with whatever you choose :)

Totally agree. Also, a car with 2 owners is likely to be much easier to sell (and therefore worth more) than one with 6 owners - this could offset the cost should they not give as much for part exchanging your current car.

This.

If you buy the car with 5/6 previous owners youll find it hard to get a good re-sale price. Sure at the moment you wont be thinking about selling on but yould be suprised how bored you can get after just 1 year.

Well no, because it.pr a CAT back which means the same CAT is kept and the system from the back of the CAT has been replaced.

Could well have been this 'Bluefin' device putting the emissions through the roof - should easily pass with the standard CAT in place.

To the OP: I'm sure you can find a much better example for the money. Deep down you know something doesn't add up with this one.

After a lengthy discussion with the miss's, im gonna call the garage tomorrow and attempt to knock the price down a large chunk, if they wont budge im going else where.

The only niggle I have now that ive cleared the history up is the price, its too high when compaired to what else is available.

Question is now, what are the chances of getting the deposit back, bare in mind nothing has been signed. Even though we met face to face, the deposit wasnt put down until much later when I was back home, over the phone.

So doesnt that fall under the distance selling act ?

Doubt it. Is this a cosher dealer or an under a flyover job in a donkey jacket?

If they are above board I would imagine after giving you some mild mannered verbal they'll hand it back. If not they'll refer you to customer services and set the dobermans on you.

Either way, wear your best trainers :D

Well called em up today, the wont refund my deposit, but thankfully i used my credit card for it so will see about getting that returned.

On the plus side I have booked an appointment to see another PB ST-2, which had only 1 owner and a full ford service history and its a grand cheaper!
