We will see 9.10 in the later of the month, most likely week beginning 19th or 26th, so you guys and gals wanting a nice new driver for your 5870 or 5850 won't see it just yet BUT!!! It does mean that there spending good time with it, so it should be quality

The betas are usually exactly the same. Great drivers though...they have had a few good releases now!

Why couldn't they just add 58x0 support to 9.9? it's not like they designed, built and shipped the card in the space of a month, pretty shoddy really.

Because drivers are developed in advance, they're not done on a month by month basis even though that's how they're released.

It doesn't really matter "what" number they're given.

9.10s are the officials just because they are.

Bug fixes and the addition of eyefinity features too.

When Cat 9.10 is released, it will have performance increases on HD 5800 series, over what is out there now. A new driver build was just released to press which improves performance. So, performance will only improve with new drivers, I don't know when Cat 9.10 will be out, but when it is, I recommend waiting for it to make final judgments.
