920 C0 Vs D0

Not quite true guys,

At a given voltage, the C0 runs cooler than the D0

At a given speed, the D0 tends to need less voltage than the C0, and consequently at the same speed the D0 will often be cooler

The D0 draws more current at a given voltage, so uses more power and runs hotter. As a result of this higher current density it can be expected to be more susceptible to damage by electomigration. At "high" voltages this is a reason to choose C0 over D0. Above 1.4V or so where 45nm historically has problems, the D0 is likely to degrade faster.

This makes something of a mockery of 'completely safe' being the vid range, since either we're being too aggressive with the D0 or too gentle with the C0. Since most of the more experienced guys seem to ignore the vid range and just keep it cold, and novices won't put such voltages through the chips anyway, much of the above is irrelevant.

If you will not overclock it makes no difference which chip you choose. The best value option will be a used C0 chip for ~£150. That is what I purchased, but I overclocked it to 4GHz:).
