Is this guy just not funny?

Don't get me wrong he has a few moments where he has me smiling but never a hearty belly laugh. Majority of the times I've seen him he just tries too hard.

Personally I've never found him funny in the slightest, my cousins on the other hand seem to find him hilarious

Was never a big fan of The Office or Extras, but I love his stand up shows and his podcasts (mainly for Karl Pilkington) he's a genius. :D

His Politics and Animals Stand up routines are pretty funny.
His tv shows aren't that great.

Some of the stuff he does is funny, films and TV, but it seems to me that his mate/co writer Stephen Merchant might have a lot to do with it. It's him, and Pilkington, who are funny in their podcasts.

Someone must find him funny (I do)

One day the world will understand not everyone, finds everything universally funny. Laughter is in the eye (mouth?) of the beholder!

HE wasn't actually that funny in the office, some lines were great, but not always his delivery. But it was the ackwardness and abnormalness of the behaviour that was funny.

However after watching the American office which is genuinely, much funnier with far far better jokes, when you rewatch an english ep, you realise its really just uncomftable humour, not really classically funny.

I don't like his stand up or much of what he's done, thought Extra's was dull, dull writing, dull acting, he wasn't really funny and he wasn't ackward.

His last film, where he's a dentist, forgotten the film. Its pretty standard, predictable but still nicely done with some decent stuff, but again he's kind of that mean hearted git and for instance the bit where he's signing into the hospital, its really him being ackward and strange rather than actually funny.

I think he plays strange and ackward very well, I don't think he's close to a great comedian and anything he's been in isn't really funny start to finish, just a few good one liners spread throughout whatever ep/film he's in.

He's ok, and seems a nice enough bloke in real life but just not that funny. New, different to the norm and alright in small doses.

I enjoyed the office and the podcasts are also really funny(Karl is a genius). Other than that he's alright.

The Office is genius, some of his other stuff are good but don't quite reach the heights of that but most of it is enjoyable.

If you don't enjoy the office, what comedy do you enjoy?

He's always had me laughing since I first saw him on Not The 11 O'clock News or something like that.
He wasn't very funny in Night of The Museum though.

I find him a bit hit and miss, he was absolutely dire on The 11 O'Clock Show, only Ali G saved that show. But The Office is sublime brilliance, whilst Extras was a bit patchy (mainly saved due to the celebs taking the **** out of themselves).
