Iv currently got my i5 rig going. but the bad point of it, it has 1 9800GT. Not really good for high res gaming so im deciding to buy another one and putting them into sli and waiting till the gt300s come out. Would it be worth it?

Also i have a 9800GT hybrid. but overclockers dont sell it anymore. Would any 9800GT do?

i've never done it but im pretty sure you can use another 9800gt, try to get one with a similar clockspeed ramspeed etcetc otherwise they will both run at the lower speed

Any 9800GT will work, doesn't have to be from the same vendor. My 8800GT SLI setup was fantastic, and quicker in Crysis than my single GTA 260-216 now. Used less power too IIRC. Great little setup :)

I'd recommend you just get a 5850. GT300 isn't going to be around for some time now I reckon.

Depends on the VRAM amount and bandwidth...

My 8800GT SLI 512Mb was great for gaming upto 1920x but much above that it just didn't have the memory - so I moved to 260GTX SLI... performance wise I'd probably still be using the 8800GT SLI if I was playing at a lower res - great setup...

But you'd prolly be better off now saving for a single better card.

kyle, im not going to choose a premament card yet. I would like to wait and see what the gt300s are like THEN i will choose what is going to be my permament card. + what if the gt300s are same price as ATI but better? i dont wanna waste my money now.

50/50 nearly lol. I am saving for 1 single card but i cant be doing with my pc being fast at everything, then when playing games like crysis i have to turn everything to 1024/768 to play on very high and enthusiast. I have my 9800gt running at 725mhz (stock 600)and a t-rad 2 cooler with 2 92mm fans. Seems decent enough to play games but the 512mb memory. That stops it from playing games like GTA4 which i really wanna play full graphics.

I'm guessing you'll be waiting a long time for the gt300 though :)
