I dont think I'll play this, got dispatched today so may just send it straight back :-P

Came on today hoping to find people had played it and found it to be great. Seems not so my workmate and I are not opening it either and will be returning it. We were thinking for £17 that co-op could be fun but we'll pick it up at a later date if they come through and fix it.

Arma 2 wasn't anywhere near perfect but at least BIS patch their products over months, so if CM do the same I'll pick it up then. I'm slightly worried as someone mentioned earlier that CM haven't patched a game yet despite saying it was due in January!

Just installed and i might cry. I cant believe theyve screwed it up!!! At least visually anyway. Perhaps the gameplay will save it but from the little ive played so far i dont think it will.

Get it up you codemasters!

How can the graphics be screwed up they look awesome in the vids that Codies released?

Post effects can do wonders. the game doesnt look nearly as nice as the screenies or videos. Altho, Ive only seen it on default settings.

Codemasters promised a grid patch for the PC that fixed a widly used exploit and also had the DLC content from the XBOX patch(mclaren f1 etc)... over 1 year later were still waiting, and there are now more exploits than ever.

Im not holding out much hope for OFPDR. Codemasters are now below EA on games devs which is a shame as I always regarded them as one of the good guys.

CCP > Valve > UBISOFT > EA > Codemasters

Well that does surprise me. Maybe that's why I didn't order it.

I don't know what's wrong with people on here. Are you playing the same thing I am?

Knee jerk or what?

And what is with all the people who haven't even played the game, and are returning it unopened! I can see that a lot here are easily influenced and clearly are unable of making balanced opinions of their own! Unbelievable! Play the demo when it arrives, judge then, although I doubt any would want to lose face reversing their opinions so we shall never know.

Rant over. Although judging by some comments, my rant is fairly tame.

I've played it, I agree with the vast majority of the forums (have you read the Codemasters forum lol).

It ok in SP and MP is defunct.

It stinks of a console port. Trying to play it properly will just leave you frustrated at the controls. The menu looks snazzy but beneath that veneer is an Xbox game with better graphics.

I'm holding out hope for this one....
Only cost me £17.99 and the videos do look pretty sweet? I'm not expecting an amazing game, but I like the look of the gore/dismemberment (call me sick if you will) and it looks a bit more user friendly than ARMA2, which I found difficult to get into.

Mine has been dispatched today, so fingers crossed should be playing tomorrow!

Altho as they have no CD protection or key what-so-ever I kinda wish I had of pirated it as a kind of up yours to Codemasters for rubbish multiplayer PC love

If they release SADS, fix the lack of anti cheat and somehow add CD keys, Ill be there mate, The basic core of it seems sound which makes the fact that they so epically screwed up even more tragic imho.

To be perfectly honest, I love it. I played Arma2 and it was alright but a bit frustrating. DR I absolutely love so far. Can't wait to get home from work and play around with the editor.

You must have had low expectations. The game has been out for days now, people are referring to actual gameplay examples, why do you think no-ones played the game yet? I understand the rants from people who disliked the game or where it didnt live up to high expectations but ranting about people not liking the game? Thats a bit silly.

THIS!
Unfortantly people on this forum tend to read the posts, retype a post like they the looks of as if its there own opion, then attack individuals for questioning them because they think they are in the majority.

Actually you wont be playing MP at all, sure you will be connected but there wont be much playing going on.

In fairness the 4-player coop game I played late last night wasn't terrible, but all of our pings were 120+ in the lobby (so probably higher in game) and there were a variety of typical P2P oddities occuring - like seeing blood splatters coming off someone with them taking no damage, then they move a few paces and just die (?), vehicle rubber banding, having to press Use several times to "activate" ammo crates, etc

It wasn't terrible but if that's what 4 player coop is like I would hate to see what 4v4 or beyond would be like.

I think I'll stick to the xbox version for this then (mates are gonna get it), how about Arma 2? I've just ordered this and I'm expecting some kind of military style simulator!

Arma 2, again depends what you want. IMO its very clunky and sort of feels like your a thunderbird puppet on string as you run about. Characters warp about at distance as well. Its more sim, for me the idea of it far out weighs the reality.
