Dragging this up due to the recent thread on settling down.
I don't like the fact that you insinuate that I have to use money to keep my wife interested. We've been together through thick and thin, depression, unemployment, massive emotional turmoil. We've laughed so hard we couldn't breath and had some amazing times. I can't see the issue with working that little bit harder to get a the extra special venue or ring for someone you think is worth it.
As for this, it does depend on how much you are spending. You will need to contact your home insurance as some will need you to specifically list any item over £2k (varies on the company) and you will also need to check if your insurance covers you out of the home.
