Good old PC gamers shafted again!|

Do serious PC gamers even care if its delayed or not

They sold 13M+ copies on consoles & not even 1M on PC so go figure where the focus is!

COD4 cannot be topped so at best this will be similar gameplay wise & lets face it Activision are out to screw gamers on all platforms as their CEO thinks this should be priced much higher so good luck with that strategy as I can wait until its budget priced as no game is ever that essential nowadays, there is way too much choice and a sequel on a 5 year old game engine is hardly going to be mind blowing is it. COD4 got away with it thanks to superior technical execution & storytelling but there is really nowhere left for these games to go other than repeat themselves :(

Pretty much agree with AWPC but I would add that they could recapture me in one single move.
All they have to do is do Original COD with an up to date game engine & chuck in half a dozen new maps & I'd buy it day of release.
I have thought for a long time that game developers really miss the boat when it comes to follow ups. Personally if I Love a game as much as I Love/Loved Original COD or BF2 all I want is the game engine updated & new maps. By adding features & crap effects they change the game I Loved into one I hate, Simples.
Hope that makes sense to some.

I'd say it was a good reason to get more people to buy the more expensive console version than "have to wait" to buy/download the cheaper pc version. We already know that the RRP on the consoles is mental but they'll get away with charging stupid money whereas they won't on the pc.

If it came out simultaneously, people with pc's and consoles may well decide to buy the pc version instead....

They've probably found something last minute and arent sure how to fix it ^^ Who cares im getting it on 2 platforms :P

It's a way of stopping piracy hurting sales. If the games is released on console first; some of the pirates who would have originally pirated the game on PC to play it - will now go out and play it on console.

Pretty much everyone that wants to play MW2 wants to play it for the online. You need to buy the retail copy if you want to play online.. well theres cracked servers but they are all kinda useless to play on.

Or they could just pirate it on console and have full access to the sp and multi whereas on the pc side its a full sp and multi restricted to cracked servers.... Might want to read through the thread first, the piracy bs is just that, bs.

Piracy numbers on console are about 10% (guesstimate) of that on PC. Also; the majority of purchases are for the online aspect? That's utter BS - I know LOADS of people who hate the MP in COD but love the SP.

Connecting to LIVE with a downloaded game usually results in that console getting banned from LIVE. You'd need to buy a new console to get online again.

I would disagree here, as much as I am not a fan of the CoD series, I can't deny that the SP campaigns are well scripted and probably the best examples of their genre. Not everyone wants to bunny hop round a map getting shot in the face by an 8 year old. There's already tons of games where you can do that.

Funny that you actually believe that, i know people that have literally thousands of pounds worth of downloaded games and they play on live with them daily with no problems. I think the talk of ms's banning sprees have been highly exagerrated, most times bans are only dished out if someones playing a game a week or 2 before the release date.

Point is a console user will have full access to both the sp and the multi whereas a pc user is restricted heavily. If a pc user wants to play the multi he's gonna have to get a ful copy of the game. In terms of content console piracy is worse because theres no incentive for them to buy the retail product when the downloaded version does everything the retail version does.

That doesn't make a blind bit of difference. Piracy on PC games is much greater than that on consoles - so it makes business sense to delay the PC release so that those who would have pirated the PC version, have to go out and purchase the console version in order to play on day of release.

Of course it makes a difference, COD is a big name game but MAINLY for the mp aspect. The sp is usually not that long and ran through in a few hours, the multi is where the games longevity lies. On pc for that aspect you NEED the retail version, on console you don't need the retail version.

So tell me where is the incentive for buying the retail version if the downloaded version provides everything the retail version does?

Either way delay or not the games gonna be pirated, and since we'll go with your assumption that pc owners all have a 360 whats to stop them pirating it on that?

90% of PC pirates wouldn't even know how to pirate a console game (I just explained that?), so they HAVE to purchase a console version if they want to play it on the day of release.

What utter utter crap. If theyre smart enough to pirate a pc game sucessfully its not as if they won't know where to get access to the console version files (same place more than likely).
