Greatest Gaming Hero Of All Time (Gordon Freeman)

A load of crap really, Mario and Gordon in the finals? Bleh! Kratos would kick their arses! It should be who would win in a fight not who's the 'greatest' whatever that means :p
 
I doubt even 1% of Mario fans know this competition exists and suspect the majority of gamers have never heard of Gordon Freeman. It's impressive that PC gamers have got together to vote for their chosen format - these aren't votes for Gordon - but these results are hardly representative. In an accurate poll Gordon would be lucky to get *makes up a number that seems about right* 5% of the vote.

I don't think any gaming icon could beat Gordon, 4 chan, and the many vote for gordon spam bots in an online vote.
 
That and Valve put out a call to arms through Steam..

Gordon is a worthy winner. Other worthy winners would be JC Denton and Solid Snake.

I cant be bothered with these, they're rigged, promoted and unbalanced.

To be honest Kirby would own Freeman :)
 
Kinda disappointed with that, people just voted for the games themselves instead of the heroes in them. Half Life 2 is fantastic, but I don't think Gordon Freeman was really any sort of hero. We never hear him speak or communicate, or have any actual involvement with people. Mario is the same. He has no story whatsoever, barely speaks, and is simply an icon.

Personally, I think Solid Snake should have won it. I'm probably biased because I also love the games, but he has a real character to him, a backstory, he speaks, interacts with people, and, well, he's badass. Maybe Gordon Freeman would be different if there had been 3rd person cutscenes in HL.

Although it was close between Snake and Freeman. If they hadn't clashed halfway through (both got 50% of the votes), Snake would probably have been in the final.
