Good old PC gamers shafted again!|

You're not making any sense. Think I'm just going to get out now.

I feel sorry for you if you read that and can't figure it out, then again your profile states that you work for a games company so your pov makes perfect sense :)

Large proportion of them will play WoW and The Sims; they wouldn't even be able to run MW2 :).

And what difference does it make if they could run mw2 or not? Id doubt its going to be that demanding since its still based on a now archaic quake 3 engine under tons of rewrites.

Thats the quote that you couldn't figure out? Says it all really,

I've just scanned through that article and I can't see where they've got that figure from, it just seems to be stated without a reference.

Its quoted in a similar interview with ign, says the following:

Statistics Valve pulled from the Gartner Group said over 255 million new PCs were purchased in 2007 and that more than 260 million worldwide use their PCs to play games, indicating there is a huge untapped potential with the PC platform. "In a single year the PC has much, much larger volumes of scale than the largest console ever did over its entire lifetime,"

oh come on Gerard, to 200m (probably) of those pc's, playing games probably equals solitaire and sudoku. I've even been known to have the odd game on mousebreaker's site on my 3 year old works laptop....

Even if 200m of those were basic machines it still leaves an install base of 55-60 million gaming machines in a year which is more than any of the current crop of consoles.

Gerard you are talking nonsense.

Can you not see it is much more difficult to pirate on consoles. Also there are way more console gamers.

My 4yo cousin has a Wii and an Xbox. I can't really see him getting his teeth in Arma 2 lol....

Thats the second time you've left, feel free to come back again though. ;)

What exactly is your point? Your point about there being more PC gamers doesn't mean anything. The console versions of MW2 are going to far outsell the PC versions - doesn't matter how many "PC Gamers" there are.

I still don't understand what it is you're trying to say?

Other people started playing the numbers game with respect to sales etc so im also addressing other points at the same time.

My point of the new cod is simply theres gonna be piracy nomatter what they do and this "tactic" they have of delaying the pc release isn't gonna help matters much. It will be pirated on the 360 more than likely before its release date, and standard devs stance in this regard is getting boring citing the pc as the ONLY platform where piracy exists.

Gerard, a quick check on you know where says that the current most popular multiplatform title is currently being shared by 8724 pc users compared to 782 xbox ones. Of course piracy is just as rife on the consoles mate.....

If there are so many pc gamers out there then why do most titles sell 10 times as many copies on the consoles as on the pc? Because the vast majority (feel free to pointlessly quote my made up figures for the sake of trolling) of the 270m or whatever pc's are not used for proper gaming.

MW2 will sell 10 times more copies on the consoles than the pc and at a higher price. It therefore makes sense rightly or wrongly for the publishers to set back the release date of the pc version to tempt users with both to get the console version rather than the pc version (bought or otherwise).

Its a bit more difficult but nothing that totally over the top, theres plenty of guides available and people willing to do it for a few quid. And no theres not more console gamers, especially when it comes to online.

.

engrish please?

But show me where i said piracy was just as bad on consoles? What i DID say was given the same amount of pirated console games vs pirated pc games, console users cause more damage since the price of the console game is higher, and the fact that they have no reason to buy a retail copy since the pirated version has no restrictions.

*Insert serious banter about piracy/pc gaming/console gaming*

In all fairness, 2 weeks from an unconfirmed rumour anyway...I can wait.
