My cheap "executive" leather chair (£40 from Staples) has just broken. One of the plastic armrests snapped and that's what holds the back to the seat. So it's useless. Although the clamp I've stuck on it is holding, it's only temporary.

Oddly enough, it was comfortable. Very high back, reclining, easy to clean...it's done good service as my PC chair for several years.

I want an adequately comfortable chair with a high enough back to cover me when I'm lounging in it to watch a film, TV, whatever. I don't want anything that only comes up to my shoulders. This one is 29 inches from seat to top and that's just enough. I don't want a fabric chair either - they always wear through and go manky too quickly.

I'm not interested in £200-£2000 chairs unless someone buys one for me. I'm on a budget. I just want something that's not complete rubbish, preferably one I can collect from a shop in Stoke on Trent because I want a new chair now (and I'll have a tantrum if I have to wait :) )

Get the same one again from staples? I got probably the same one as you years ago, still using it fine now, it's a bit creaky and the seat now has my backside print in it but other than that it's spot on still!

Ryman do a good High back chair at £49.99 on sale

Much better than the pic shows, was going to get a similar chair from Ikea at £99.99 but purchased this one :)

----------------------------------------

The back of the chair is only 48cm, which is a long way short of long enough to lounge in while watching video. It isn't really high back at all. My current chair is ~74cm and that's just enough to be supporting my head when I lean back.

I've sat on that chair in a Ryman's shop. It's very comfortable for the price, by the back just isn't high enough.

I've looked - it's not sold any more.

Shows as £79.99 now

I need a decent sized chair with a high back, I feel a trip to the local Staples coming on.

It's £79.99 +VAT = £91.99

Staples defaults to showing prices without VAT. You can toggle it near the top left, directly under the Staples logo.

Dad got a cloth one from Argos, aint sure how much he paid, but it was definately sub £50 and it is more comfortable than my leather chair that cost me £135.

Think the one ive got is £60. Its the same as yours only the arms are metal so they cant snap :) High back and swings back, its pretty comfy.

From a main highstreet computer retailer.

If it's an Omnicasa Serano Palma, would you do me a favour and measure the back height? From top of seat to top of the back, i.e. where your back is when you sit in it.

I want to see if it's high enough to support my head when I lean back to watch video on my PC and I can only find the total height from the floor in product specs from any of the places that sell it (and none of them are both local and have it in stock, so I can't measure it myself).

That looks an interesting chair, been looking for a nice cheap mesh chair for ages. Not sure if there is a Rymans around my way to test it out though.:(

It doesn't have a high back, despite the description. 48cm is not a high back. You won't be able to lean back in it.

Looks reasonably high to me, however i'm not looking for a large chair, which is artly why i've been looking for a mesh one over a leather one.:)
