I picked up Crackdown and Fable 2, and I'll be getting Brutal Legend next week and Ninja Gaiden 2 when I get round to finishing the first one. I'm not at all worried how old a game is, but if it's been released for the PC, I've most likely played it. Cheap is a bonus.

Indeed depends on what you like. I'd highly recommend Batman Arkham Asylum though, one of the best games I've played :)

Gears 2, COD4, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge, GTA4, Burnout Paradise, Resident Evil 5, Bioshock to name a few of mine on the 360. Some of those are available on the PC, but are equally as good on the 360.

Saints Row 2 (classic edition), £12 new..
Bioshock (classic edition), £13 new..

That's a fair bit of gameplay for £25 quid

I should really have stressed how much I've picked up for the PC. Everything but GTA4 and Mirror's Edge I've got or had. About the style of game I'm after, anything goes really. I'm not at all keen on FPS with a pad, it's a complete no go for multiplayer. I would stick it out if it had a great single player/campaign mode though.

Would GoW2 and Halo 3 be worth picking up taking multiplayer out of the equation. Any really good skateboarding/snowboarding type games, fighters, racing games?

I'm going so stick my neck out here and say that if you have already played any Xbox360 game that has been released on the PC then you might have been better with a PS3 as there are more non-PC ported games on it. If I had an Xbox360 I would definitely get Alan Wake when it is released.

i'm not saying there is anything wrong with the Xbox, I'm just saying many of its good games make their way onto the PC. That is all.

I would say:

Alan Wake
Mass effect 1 and 2
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2

Many people rate Gears of War but I wasn't so keen on it

Forza 2 & Forza 3 is out soon as well awesome racing games :)

I was in the exact same situation as you mate, check my games list (not the bottom ones as they are from my first xbox when it came out lol)

Definitely worth getting these two then. Mirror's Edge was a breath of fresh air and GTA4, although not as good as the very best GTA games, was still an awesome game in its own right.

GOW2 was very good although I didn't enjoy it as much as GOW perhaps because it was too similar.

As far as racing games go you can pick up PGR4 on the cheap and Forza 3 is release very soon. For skateboarding games I would look at the likes of Skate or Skate 2.

Edit: Although not really essential you could also have a look at some Live games like Shadow Complex, Braid and my personal favorite Worms 2: Armageddon :D

Get mirrors edge - it's awesome

Amped 3, Skate & Skate 2 are all worth a look too :)

I think I'll looking to the difference in price and how well Mirrors Edge was ported to windows. But of the 3 skateboarding related games, picking Skate 2 would be a safe bet? Seemed to have improved on the original from the reviews I read., and that it was really hard. I'm a masochist!

I just wanted a cheap and cheerful console for Brutal Legend, in all honesty. But I had my eye on Crackdown and Fable 2 since they were released. Alan Wake is a given, and if I've not upgraded the PC I'll be getting ME2 and that for the xbox.

Forza 2 & Forza 3 is out soon as well awesome racing games :)

I totally forgot about Forza. I had the first one for the xbox. Good call.

Cheers. I will do.

The thing that put me off GTA4 was how rigid everyone made it out to be. I love SR2 and currently really enjoying Crackdown. I've no idea how Mirror's Edge slipped past me, but I'll have to give it a go. I've have to weigh up PGR4 and Forza, but I think I'm sold on Skate 2.

About Live games, I've not even set up Live account yet, or blundered around trying to work out how the points system works, but I wouldn't mind getting some of those on the go. I think Bionic Commando: Rearmed is on Live? I really fancy that.

This is what I'd suggest :

Saints Row 2
GTA 4
Fifa 10
Battlefield 1943 (XBLA, superb game)
Trials 2 (XBLA)
GoW 2
Dirt 2
Mass Effect
Fable 2
CoD 4

A lot of people suggest Saints Row 2. Never played either, just the demo of the first like the first day i got my 360. Is SR2 any good? The reviews seem decent, but they all say it has technical problems?
