I think he means the layout of the door cards, centre console, etc as opposed to the trim inserts

Sounds like he's trying to make himself feel better about his pre LCI then 'cos the doorcard layout etc is miles better on the LCI

If I was buying an E60 I'd not really want to settle for anything less than an LCI.
