hiya folks,

As some may know ive been after an ST-2 for some time now and so far not had much luck due to garages either telling me a pack of lies or just not bothered to let me know the car has been sold after i've travelled hundreds of miles.

Well anyway, ive found a nice st-2 in excellent condition with low milage through ford direct.

Only down side is its newcastle, being 400 miles each way, I am considering to get the car delivered to me on a truck. Can i trust ford direct to now screw me over ?

Why do you keep posting new threads about your mission of buying an ST, maybe one would suffice?

But in answer to your question, no I would not get it delivered direct :)

Ask all the questions you need to ask over the phone, then if they're the answers you want, plan to go and inspect the car, make the journey.

Just because its' ford direct don't expect them to be any better than any other dealer.

I thought with ford direct they will move the car to a ford dealer near you. So you can have a once over. But may be a jennings dealer to the nearest jennings dealer for example.....worth asking for 400miles.

Mine came from Essex to Milton Keynes. Was not perfect, got it a week later once it was too my satisfaction.

I can only say that as long as you can swallow the premium going down this route, the 2 year warranty is definitely the way to go. They also offer a 30 day no quibble exchange too :)

Yeah thats the thing after speaking to the chap at jennings ford in south shields, the car ticked all the boxes, 1 owner, low mileage, full ford service history, next service due in january (expensive one, new spark plugs etc) which they will do prior to the sale.

The car comes with a 3 month warranty with Ford so I can take it to my local Vospers Ford dealership if any problems occur.

Certainly a lot happier about buying from Ford themselfs instead of an independant garage.

Go to the dealer before you spend any money. It's not as though it's a couple of hundred quid you're shelling out.

I bought my ST without test driving it and after about 3 months, had regrets doing so.

Dealer is an 800 mile round trip, im protected by the Sale of Goods Act and Distance Trading, so if im not happy with the vehicle when its delivered I am entitled to a full refund.

Being a Ford Dealer and going by the responses of other people on numerous Ford Focus web sites, Jennings are a great dealer.

This.

When my stepdad bought a Mondeo a few months ago from Ford he paid a small deposit (it was about a hundred quid), the car was bought to the dealership (Birmingham) from Newcastle, and then he went to view/purchase it. Might be the best thing to do :).
