"The Fear"

The fear is the brilliant, enjoy it while it lasts!

Never better than waking up with some bint, and having next to no memory of the night before nevermind a name!

ah the days!!!!!

The fear is when you feel dread about your physical condition and possible impending doom, you can't sleep but can't stay awake, your stomach hurts but you can't face food. Death would seem a fair release but if you survive you would promise never to drink again. There's no way out.

Fear and lothing in las vegas?

Something like that happened on the end of my shroom trip, seriously ****ed my up for a few months.

Um.. I thought I just made it up as I typed it but now you mention I'm sure there is similar in that film.

I'm no expert on drugs but I'd imagine alcohol is the worst thing due to the massive amounts can just put into your body.

Hi Guys,

I wonder whether this is just a thing between my circle of friends, but do any of you get 'The Fear' after a night of drinking? As in, you wake up the next day and you feel a strange sense of dissociation and paranoia?

I went out on the lash last night and have had it all day today. It's awful. Just wondering whether I am alone in this or not?

:p

Absolutely. I get that every single time I feel that my memory is hazy. I get paranoid about my antics, feel that I have made a bigger fool out of myself than I actually did, and feel very self concious. Not pleasant at all.

Well I wet the bed on my 21st, if that's any help to you.

I used to work on a cruise ship, and a couple (read: three or four) of times I wet the bed after many hours in the bar (loads of people did it, honest. Apparently it was the rocking motion of the ship). The fear was finishing work with a hangover that could fell a horse, coming back to my cabin expecting the chief of housekeeping to be waiting for me.

The last time I did it the guy who made my bed/cleaned my cabin every day left me a note saying along the lines of "Please don't mess bed. Very hard to get new bed." :o :o

I woke up a couple of times in the bathroom after that because I'd try and go the toilet three or four times after coming back in after a night out. There was a lot of waiting time involved with that.

(I now also live in fear of wetting the bed after a night out, having brought a girl back :().

Edit: I tipped my cabin steward generously at the end of the contract, promise :o

Try a nice lovely period of sleep paralysis.

The Fear is a most welcome, calming state to be in after some of that.
