Versus is rigged to give the Infected the advantage.

That's not just my opinion, it's fact, you can listen about it in the developer commentary in-game.


Still, with a poor enough team you can get your butt handed to you any map any side :)


I like to play with people who take it seriously enough to:

a) Not cause FF
b) Have decent game awareness - knows the levels, sticks with the group
c) Reasonable accuracy - hardly need marksman abilities

Not that hard to find when playing random to be honest.

The only gitmonger I've ever met was some troll on an OCUK server who joined, incapacitated two of us at spawn with a shotgun while enlightening us to his views on n****** and rednecks then left after we killed him.

I'm sure the other admins would concur: If you get a griefer like this on any of the OcUK servers, make a note of his steam name and/or ID, copy/paste the conversation if it includes insults/racism and he will be added to the ban list. Simples.

press escape >call a vote >kick player.

next to restart campaign return to lobby etc.

Can only kick people on your team and only your team can vote top stop abuse.

Yes, Death Aboard 7 is installed on both OcUK3+4 (as well as Defrag's ocuk7).

I still need to upload the updated Heaven Can Wait at some stage, but unfortunately both my work and home I/C are incredibly rubbish for uploading. :(

Can someone tell me if the search key (sv_search_key ocuk) is working again yet? Just makes it easier than post the IPs up on the group space etc...

AFAIK the search keys still do not work (although i've not tried the search key for a couple of days as I normally use the IPs now)

BTW, has anyone used Mumble?

I used it the other day while playing L4D and its very good. Clear voice over IP and the hosting of a Murmur (server version of Mumble) seems to be quite cheap.

I keep getting asked by numerous people to join mumble, teamspeak or some other chat thing and tbh I really cba. Quite happy typing on steam chat or just using ingame speech personally....

I think one or two of my l4d servers have the option of a free teamspeak server, but I have yet to activate it.
 
yeah TS/muble etc were good for CS:s where the in game codec was terrible but the l4d in game chat is perfectly fine and better than many TS/vent servers I've been on.

Mostly agree with Link /re L4D but mumble does also rock.

There's a server running at quake.fragm.co.uk that people here are free to use. You can register at http://de003208.idaq.com/mumble/register.cgi also.
