Corsair H50

From reviews i have read the H50 is superb aslong as you have a decent case to put it in, as it can blow the warm air from the radiator into your case (depending on your setup.)

I know they have the bracket for the i7 but i'm not sure if OcUK ships with the 1156 bracket yet.

Hi ,

I personally think they are great for the money. Simple and effective as a high end air cooler would be , just consumes less space.

Right now NO , they only come with the 775 and the i7 1366 bracket if you order now. To my knowledge though there should be new batches dispatched to the retailers this week so its only a matter of time before they do stock the 1156 bracket.

The kits with the 1156 bracket have a -1 on the end of the part number "CWCH50-1".
in the large H50 thread (30 odd pages) in this same forum category I believe someone said they have already bought one of these new kits but can't remember if they said it was from here or not.

I'll agree with as effective as a high end air cooler, but not that it's simple. It costs the same as a TRUE/megalahems etc, but has far more moving parts. This means the pump can break, it can leak, over time coolant evaporates and cannot be replaced. By contrast, not much to go wrong with a thermalright heatsink.

So given cost and performance are rather similar, why pick the one that's more likely to break?

I would like it as I look in my case and see a huge cpu cooler lol, it just looks narsty, and i have a antec 902 case.

Is there any nice air cooling blocks then for around the same price? that will fit the amd 902 AMD Phenom II 940? and will fit the i5 and i7 as i will upgrade soon.

I think i have the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme but it just big and don't look so good when I look into my case on my desk next to me.

It shouldn't really matter what it looks like unless you are a gay or a woman - It's the performance that matters to be perfectly honest.

JonJ678 hit the nail on the head in his post (#5) referring to the likelihood of failure when compared to similarly performing/priced equipment.

I was going to buy a H50 for my new build but that type of argument has put me off.

Yes performance does matter but don't mean you cant have something that looks good and does well.... And how does wanting a pc that looks good inside with (cable management and parts that perform well and looks tidy etc that a lot of people do) make you a women or gay?

You're arguing for buying something that's more likely to break because it's pretty. He's arguing for buying something less likely to break even if you don't think it's pretty. I must admit, my girlfriend would follow the former and myself the latter. However ejr22 is coming dangerously close to personal insults, while I saw that he wrote in jest it appears you did not.

atmax1, you want proper water cooling. If you can't afford it, then use the TRUE until you can.

Cable management is the art of directing airflow in the right direction, not of making it look all pretty. I think that as soon as you've put a window in the side of the case you've lost the plot slightly, you're making the case louder in order to look inside at all the things that you put there yourself. I don't get it.

I actually think that the TRUE is a rather nice looking bit of kit, (black version here) good thing with it or any other air cooler is, being basically a lump of metal, nothing can go wrong with it.

I like the silver one myself, though have a certain amount of respect for thermalright machining an entire one out of copper. That's mad, but I like it.

ot/ the scythe kama bay is available again :D

The copper one is a fantastic looking thing, i acually considered buying one until i saw what weight it was, more of a cooler for a bench table setup than hanging from a motherboard in a case, you gonna go for the kama bay jon, if so id highly reccomend replacing the stock scythe fan as its rather poor, a 60 a day smoker could blow more air.:D

I ant arguing, I asked a simple question "Is the Corsair H50 any good? and do they now come with the bracket for i5 and i7?" I don't mind air cooling but I want something that don't look like the one I have... I used to have water cooling but it leaked over my old 3870x2 why I don't want a full kit again, I said is it any good meaning your views on it as I have seen mixed reviews.

Sorry if I came across rude, I have autism and some other thing and I don't always come across clear. The cable management comment, I ment was people also do it to tidy it up and have the H50 because it takes up less room etc and my pc is on my desk in my room i have the see threw side because the antec 902 is a good case plus I'm 21 and it looks cool :)

The TT is quite nice to look at in a 902 case

no support for 1156 as yet though

another thing the tru in a antec 902, what's the best way to have it?
Iirc on amd setups the TRUE bracket only allows you to mount the cooler facing the top of the case, this is fine in a case that has a top fan set as exhaust, you say you will be upgrading to possibly i5/i7, in this case youll need the appropriate bolt thru kit for the TRUE theese will allow the cooler to be mounted so that it pushes air to the rear case exhaust fan.

any news on if they will make it support it? and is it any good?

ive got one sat here waiting to go back to ocuk, the cooler its self is of very good quality, its a lot shorter than my noctua so will be shorter than the megahalem and the TRUE but its also wider and there lies the problem its too wide for my motherboard due to heatpiping around the cpu area on my GD80 so theres no way i'd be able to get underneath it to fasten the fixing screws :(
