Transport Giant Gold Edition

Has anyone played this game, if so, what's your opinions about the game? Is it similar as to Transport Tycoon or much much worse? Thinking of buying it since I seen it for less then a fiver but just wondering if its worth it at all?

Seem to remember it wasn't as good as TT. Have you tried Open Transport Tycoon? It's top notch.

Never played them but I can't imagine it they would come close to OpenTTD

Open TTD takes some beating, it's in continual development and there are tons of mods. Only thing I've never quite got is that each town has passengers but they never say where they wanna go

Transport Tycoon Deluxe was a favourite game of mine and I did not even know Open Transport Tycoon existed. Thanks!

Hmmm when going to the download page it says this:

OpenTTD requires the original version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe data files in order to function.

Now, if I don't have the original version of Transport Tyccon Deluxe, then I can't play the Open TTD? Or have I got it wrong?

You do need the Transport tycoon deluxe files, but they are avalible. You should find some links on the forum there. It's a bit grey with it being abandonware, however the data files are easy to come by.

Thanks, had a look at their forum and found the thread about TTD so have downloaded some files from there!

Will have a go on it on another day though, since I got to go to work now

If I can't get things working I'll be back!

I have lost so many hours to Transport Tycoon (from the demo of the original), TTD, and now Locomotion

There's also Simutrans which looks pretty damn similar to TTD (So similar that it's a blatant copy) which is supposed to be very good and has better graphics. Keep meaning to play it but keep going back to OTTD.
