Micro Men - BBC Four - 9 PM

I enjoyed this program.

I'm shocked that they relegated it to BBC4. BBC2/BBC1 would've been better, as this program doesnt really require you to be "into" computers.

What about Sinclair C5 electric transport system...perhaps this was a little ahead of its time when no one cared about fuel emissions.

Perhaps if he released the item in 2012, it would've gone down better. 1984 was way too early for this ground breaking technology.

Really enjoyed this, they should do more things like this :)

Very good, the hardest thing about "period" films, basically any film that isn't present day is about getting the look and feel right, and I felt they did this perfectly :)

Iplayer on the ps3 last night, brilliant.

Few of the quirky references, the sour, the milk and the keeping it cool... the 80 and milk bottle legend:)

Strange though, im not mistaken on this (i was one of the only 4 in the school allowed to use it) Our primary school got a zx81 through the post, well before the bbc showed up.

All the same though, glad the beep made it over the sinclair into schools, id have never graduated from typing school on the rubber flat mat.

This is one of the most cryptic posts I've ever read.

Care to elaborate? I have no idea what 'sour milk' has to do with 'keeping it cool' or how it relates to '80 milk bottle legends'.

All the same though, glad the beep made it over the sinclair into schools, id have never graduated from typing school on the rubber flat mat.

What is the 'beep'?

Ahhh, the bbc, sorry bit of a typo, the 'beeb' i apologise, slang for the computer/bbc in general for us oldies.

As to the former, basicaly the zx80 would overheat, popular work around to that problem was to place a milk bottle on top of the machine.

Never actualy owned a zx81 though, so i can't vouch for the bluetack:)

We were chatting to the real Jim Westwood yesterday.
Turns out he got to make a cameo appearance in the program.

If you go to the scene where they are in Smiths and Chris Curry asks the salesman if there are any games for the Acorn - the real Jim Westwood can be seen reading a magazine.

He's loving this.
Somebody playing him on screen in a well recieved program and getting a cameo appearance :)

I had a Acorn electron plus 1, i used to love playing repton and beach head but i was jealous of my cousin who had a 48k spectrum, that was until i plugged his kempston joystick interface into his speccy while it was on and it stopped working :D
