Hi all now firstly I don't want this to be a thread where people start flaming each other and so on, I only want to know some simple details ... so

I am not a football fan firstly so teams etc players and so on mean nothing to me however I have had FIFA 09 and PES 2009 for sometime now mostly due to the fact that work mates got them and we were going to start an online league but it never happened, they have been sitting there so I thought I would pick them up and have a bash and so far have been enjoying it most of the time ...

I have recently started playing a bit of both to break up the hours and hours Dragon Rising has recently stollen from me and just want to know which game out of the two people prefer, reasons why and what game mode?

Thats it quite simple really ... I'm about half way through a season at the moment in FIFA on Semi-Pro and finding it quite a challenge but not lost a game yet, wins and draws are almost even.

As for PES 2009 I have started the Legend mode but not sure how to get out of training matches etc ... but sure i'll figure it out soon ... lol.

Cheers

I only started playing from PES6 on the 360, up until now i've preferred PES.

But played the Fifa10 demo, and it's really good! Not played the PES2010 demo but it's meant to be a bit rubbish - then others say it's an early build?

Tempted to buy Fifa10 but tempted to wait to try PES2010...

I have got and hated PES 2006 ... but quite like 2009 ... not really bothered about the 2010 games yet just wondered about the ones I had, guess it comes down to which I like the most though really and so far FIFA is the one I enjoy the most but PES seems a lot harder but more rewarding when you get the play right ... sometimes FIFA seems "easy" or is that just me

Ok so I take it then that FIFA is the arcade game and PES is the simulation?

Simulation means real in gaming terms, PES has been slow and lacking in free flowing football and player movement for years.

PES of the PS1/2 days was the football game to play, shame Konami lost its way. I would love PES to be great but its simply not as good as Fifa and as a football fan its sad news.

I wouldn't exactly call Fifa a simulation, they are both games and some people prefer one to another.

Just give both versions a try if possible when Pes is out and see which you prefer :)

i hated fifa and fifa fan boys, always been a pes fan, but pes 2007/2008/2009 and i suspect 2010 from what i have read have lost there way, i went with fifa2010 and have been enjoying playing my house mates, the controls are identical and i picked it up in no time. I miss the fun of PES in the early and mid 2000's :( hope they sort it out as they seem to be losing a big fan base. - you can forgive them for one maybe two bad releases but they just don't seem to listen to feedback.
