Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Im up to the fourth level now. Really enjoying the game I have to admit. Haven't had time to crack onto some Co-op yet but hopefully at the weekend I'll be able to get some games in.

I think it's a shame theres no option to select your kit before each mission though (e.g. primary & Secondary weapons).

MeAnBoy, thanks for your reply. I have been reading that people are missing the game save point (greyed out circle on the map), but i am sure that we hit these during our game, even watched 'checkpoint Reached' flash up on screen

No probs pal. Im not too sure about restarting missions from a checkpoint though, i've always completed the mission before actually calling quits on the session. It's quite possible this feature isn't support, and i cant say it would suprise me either.

As for the ****storm on the CM forums, i guess a lot of people are pretty peeved it hasn't quite reached their expectations. I can sypathise especially seeing how well the game was marketed and the dev videos looked amazing.

Thaks Hector and Vincent for the games. Good fun, and this game certainly is a challenge on hardcore!

I totally suck with directions in this though. Wish they had left the compass on hardcore.

yeah, to be honest a well trained soldier would know his location and his bearing if possible so i think it would have been fair to have left it on for those less experienced (ie the player) in feature recognition and so on to have been able to quickly and easily seen what direction he were headed in. oh well, still a good game tonight, my head still seems to fancy the idea of being a colander but what can you do :/

thanks again :)

just hold "rb" to quickly check your compass. Also the team leader can mark targets and everyone else can see them in real time by press "rb"

Yer it was fun (especially watching vincent getting assaulted by 14 enemy :D), Hip Shot was an unexpected tough nut to crack.. 5 missions left to go and some are going to be quite punishing but we'll do 'em, that i'm sure :)

ah

Glad I never went to get this game last week, what a stinker, feel sorry for the pc gamers spending £100s on a computer and end up with a console game, this will be £19 in 2 weeks

if you have nothing positive to say why bother???

to be honest i can understand where he is coming from, BUT, this isn't the PC section, for a console game it's actually quite good and there are a large number of people on my friends list enjoying what it has to offer.

cheets; if you have any real beef/grief with this game (especially when your grief seems to be regarding this on the PC) then perhaps you should consider posting in the PC section or on the code masters forums where you're implication of having not bought the game may have some greater effect.

Oh my. You thought the graphics were sub-par, spare a thought for the PS3 users.

Blimey, if that is indeed a shot from the 360 and PS3, I wish I had got the game on my 360 now! Not only would I have a better looking game, but I could probably enjoy MP more, rather than relying on the joke that is PSN (where’s my goddamn private chat!!!!).

Edit: Just reading that comparison site, their review sounds dubious to me – they list massive problems with screen tearing on the PS3; but I’ve played the game to completion and have experienced nothing of the sort. Infact, the only issue I had was a noticeable drop on frame rate when watching an arty strike via the binos.

I don’t really trust any website when it comes to 360 vs PS3, both sides seem ready to slate the other and I expect that both aren’t above cheating; for instance I half expect these ‘360’ shots to be from PC…. but hey ho, I have it on PS3 for the time being, if I ever fancy playing it after I’ve traded my copy in, I’ll try the 360.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd check..... :D

Ok, curiosity got the better of me and I did check, the exact same spot as this screenshot and indeed the PS3’s version looks like that – if the 360’s version is truly that much better, than that’s pretty poor of the dev team imo.

Still a case of the PS3 being harder to code and when games are multi platform the last thing you was your devs is spending more time on certain formats.

i think that ps3 shot is actually a pc on low settings, heres 2 shots from a thread on the cm forums.

check out the grass on the other side of the road.

the 360 shots are what i took earlier and the ps3 shots are what some bent(thats his forum name) guy took.

these can only be used to compare draw distance and foliage etc obviously.
