Different cable for Sennheiser HD-25s?

Just got my Sennheiser HD-25 1 II Special Edition today and apart from the tightness of the headband (will probably stretch after a while) and getting used to the small ear cups I am loving them. However the cable is too short for desktop use. I have my pc connected to my Denon amp and the headphones plugged into the front of them.

So what I'm after is a new longer cable or coiled cable. However I would rather get a nice one or custom one as it will be better than buying a extender.

Also is there a way how I can have headphones constantly connected to the back of my amp (2807) and with a button/setting on my amp, switch off my speakers when I want to use the headphones? I ask because it would be neater cable wise and my amp is low to the ground and having that flap open all the time it gets very dusty lol.

Cheers,
Tobes

Pick up an HD-580/600/650 cable and flip the cups.
An extension is not going to make a difference to quality if that's your concern.

This again :D

It's just about long enough for my PC use, but I do agree that it could be longer for others. Pickup the 600/650 copper cable, flip the ear cups, plug in the cable, then have fun.

Otherwise just get an extension cable for it if you use them out and about, and need the shorter standard cable for this.

On my Marantz amp I have a headphone port and buttons to turn off 'speakers 1' and 'speakers 2' on the front of my amp.

Not that i ever use these buttons, I dont like leaving my headphone connected all the time as its just something else to power. I only use 'source direct' and 'speakers 1'

So the HD 650 cable is a lot better than the stock 25 cable then. Will have a look at prices. I think the cable I have right now is 1.5m. So 2.5m > should do it nicely. I don't go anywhere to use the headphones but I will keep the stock anyway in case I finally get around to purchasing a Zune HD. Even though like I said... I don't go out. So I would never use it lol.
