What You All Have Been Waiting For

nice one mate. At least someone who gets the point of things. And Vinny i wont loose back pressure cause its only the silencer part so should have the same affect as the standard exhaust. Also someone on the forum has done the mods i said apart from hes got a different back box and hes got 120hp hehehe

Look.

You need to stop reading info on a forum and referring to videos and hearsay as fact. Some guy saying he has 120bhp has no factual significance at all.

I polished my car this weekend and reduced the drag to that of a Lotus elise, because some guy on the Pulsar forum said he did the same and got 4 extra bhp too.

Everyone can do that ;)

I suppose, most rolling road figures can be faked, pump the tyres up to the max etc etc, and also the if their RR is good. For example, i took mine to Awesome to get RR'd and with the correct tyre pressure it produced 123 WHP, which depending who you ask is standard or 2hp short, but i know that the result will be accurate because Awesome GTI are a credible name in the VAG community and will be less likely to give wrong figures.

stealth racing are a credible name, but their dyno is a random number generator just like all the rest

A what?

Reading that made me cringe.

corolla aka rolla its how us ricers talk.

It had been rolling roaded at some place and he had the print out that he posted but i cant find it. Also he did a run when he had it standard and then once he did his mods he did a run then. So he had 120hp which isnt to bad but it did cost him like £800 for eveything he told me so not rally worth it in my eyes.

Awful lot of shhhhhhhlaging going on in this thread, both cars are subtle, i dont see where the problem is..

Is my car chavvy too?

Forget the whole not spending x amount on a car, because the same can be said to many aspects of life, your house, your computer, its called an intrest.

And yes, im good friends of the owners of the two cars mentioned

This keeps coming up but he's 22 - he's not 17 and this isn't a car he's scraped the coppers together for from his part time job whilst at college.

22 is young. Not everyone is privileged or has the ability to buy an expensive powerful car at such a young age. I had to scrape my pennies together for my Fiat which I kept for nearly 3 years because I couldn't afford anything else at the time. I was a student with part time work and a propensity for lavish holidays, extreme sports and good food. However I always liked my cars and each 8 I've owned since my first car I've cherrished and was ridiculously proud of them.

Maybe he did scrape the coppers together Fox, you don't know. Not everyone lives your wonderful priveleged and upper echelon of society life.

Agreed.

I actually quite like both cars. I appreciate that a lot of people are of the opinon that you should never throw money at cars when you can use that money to put towards a faster/better one however I see no problem with it.
Why bother decorating and furnishing your 1 bed flat when in a few years you'll upgrade to a 2 bed semi? Then why bother fitting a new kitchen to that when in a few years you'll have a 3 bed detached?
Maybe people mod cos they want something that they can enjoy in the meantime and instead of putting £200 a month away towards that faster car they only put £100 away and spend the other £100 on mods so that they can enjoy their current car in the meantime.

In the last 6 months I've spent a reasonable amount on adding 19" wheels, remus exhaust and stereo which I could've saved towards a 911 but I quite like my car and want to enjoy it until I can justify the extra money required to own a proper Porsche.

Face it, we're wrong everyone else is right ;)
