So after working out that ill earn £73 quid a week for 3 nights work at a local nightclub (15 hours) about 8 miles away and that to travel there and back is gonna cost me about £25 a week I'm £2 down on what id get for sitting at home on my pc all day. Ive rang the local job centre and they said i couldn't get anything except my stamp being paid (about a fiver i believe). I would really like the job since its something i want to do but i really cant see the point in loosing more money than i already get. I have a interview tomorrow for said nightclub.

Alright, lets try this at a different angle, answer all questions and don't be cocky.

Have you got ANY experience working in a bar?
Have you got ANY reason why you want the job? As lets face it, the pay is cack.
Do you realise that those hours are minimal and if, IF you are able to work in a bar, the overtime is where you will earn money. As like all bar jobs. Expect to work a lot of long houred shifts as the norm.
Do you have anything else going for you in the future?
Where do you see your self going?
Do you pluck your eyebrows as they are rather bushy?

Chances of you getting more hours greatly increase if you have the job in the first place.

Quite. Have some pride in working for a living and not scrounging off others.

Indeed but i did work when i was 15 - 16 when i left school until i went to college i paid tax and Ive only been on JSA for 4 weeks so i see it as claiming my tax back at the moment.

We would be in a pretty crap country if we all claimed our tax back!

Do you have anything else going for you in the future? i go in the army in april.
Where do you see your self going? in the army then maby buying pubs/clubs etc. when i have enough dollar and ive done my service in the army.
Do you pluck your eyebrows as they are rather bushy? i let my sister if shes around :)

Wow. I truly despair at such an attitude. You can work but you can't be arsed and don't want to lose money you frankly don't deserve. TBH, that makes me sick/angry.

A strange way of looking at it. I'm glad that everyone doesn't have the mentality of wanting to claim the tax back that we all have to pay, I must have accrued a few years of JSA by now...

My advice is go for the job and see how you get on, when unemployed how well the job pays is not the top priority, it should be getting employed again so you can progress.

I don't know, free money isn't exactly bad :p

@OP, You should get at least £85.95 based on 15 hours @ min wage.

You won't pay any tax on that and should be able to get a weekly bus pass for £10-15.

cool man where do i find the busses that run at 3:30 in the morning ?

This. Sort of. It's not scrounging if you're entitled to it, basically. You shouldn't see it as a choice between JSA or working, JSA is the security blanket.

It was a generalisation really not aimed specifically at you.

Your hours will increase, and you'll get tips. And you'll be earning. Much better.

Aye, it was more generalised in my head, eg "people should be...".
