dental sedation and Sick Leave

Get a note from the dentist explaining why you can't go to work on those days, should be no problem.

You don't need the day off following dental sedation.
You will need the day off on which the sedation is performed but there is nothing to suggest you should be unable to work the following day.

'Man up or grow some....' as the kids these days tend to say.

hah I bet your scared to even enter a dentist irl :P

Ah so booking the 5pm appointment gets you out of work until work finishes, nice work there on the wording by the practice.

Workplaces are not legally bound to give sickleave with a sickline from your doctor. Most places would take the day out of your annual leave, you can always try asking your workplace and see what they say, showing them the letter.

I’ve just taken nearly two weeks off waiting for dental surgery have an abscess removed, the dentist cannot remove it due it being located next to a nerve if they do and touch the nerve I can end up with a paralysed face so have being shoved onto the waiting list to have it surgically removed! Still waiting on that appointment in the mean time I’m on 3 doses of pain killers and antibiotics have a note from the dentist so it’s all good, just show work and you won’t have any problems.

Unless they need to administer something that strictly you shouldn't drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after - it should be no problem going back to work the following day - I've had some pretty brutal dental work done and still managed to make it into work that afternoon* - tho I couldn't blame anyone in the same circs for taking that day off.

* My dentist is extremely good tho... infact I've never met someone as polite, professional and competent in any other industry... quite refreshing to see someone who still takes pride in their work these days.
