Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Well, left coop alone for a bit as was beginning to loose the will to live with it. Kinda agree though that the save point in coop just don't exist and you have to do the whole level to be able to save your progress.
As for Single player then the game is pretty good, yes there are glitches, but the good parts make up for it. The only annoying thing is that the ai are amazing shots to get a head shot from such distances !

I feel the opposite to you. I love hardcore co-op. having to repeat the whole level makes it that much more intense. In the beginning would restart the mission if other players died - now it's a case of tough, as long as one man makes it out and completes the mission it's ok :) Unless it's very close to the beginning of the missions.

I just don't find the single player aspect engaging. Don't know why, but I have no desire to play the game if it's not in co-op.

I don't find the AI overly accurate. It really feels to me like they sometimes just get in lucky shots. What does annoy me is that often they will fire on you when they shouldn't even be able to see you, and their eye sight is a little too good at night.

just hold "rb" to quickly check your compass. Also the team leader can mark targets and everyone else can see them in real time by press "rb"

Oh... maybe I should have read the manual. But doesn't RB just bring up the command menu? Or is the compass on that page too and I am blind?

ffalic, yeah i do agree with some of what your saying about having to grit it out etc. I think my problem with coop comes from having issues saving my progress at all, even from stage to stage. When me and my mate started a new coop camp from scratch, played through the first level and part of the second, we stopped for something, came back and had to start from the first mission, nothing was saved !!! we did this twice as we could not believe it. I still kinda think that its something that we are doing wrong, as in do we have to use the same saves as our single player camps?
Other than that, yeah maybe your right, they are not better shots, just have bionic vision ! ;):D

Still think it's a good game though, few patches and will be a really good game

I currently have 3 saves. One normal which I was playing single player on, and experienced which I am not sure why I started, and a hardcore one which I use for co-op.

Every time I set up a co-op session I make sure I load the hardcore co-op one as I am not sure if it defaults to the last played save or the first save.

Have had no issues with progress being saved this way.

i think that ps3 shot is actually a pc on low settings, heres 2 shots from a thread on the cm forums.

check out the grass on the other side of the road.

Xbox 360 version

compared to...

Playstation 3 version

Close Up's

Xbox 360

Playstation 3

the 360 shots are what i took earlier and the ps3 shots are what some bent(thats his forum name) guy took.

these can only be used to compare draw distance and foliage etc obviously.

I checked the PS3 version last night, and the shot norm posted is exactly how it looks, the shots you posted are a little hard to make out and, to me, look like the TV being played on has some sort of sharpening turned on and way up; having said that thought it does still look poor compared to the 360.

Just my opinion mind.

Don't know whether to continue campaign tonight or have a night off. Got loads of tele and films to catch up on....

Surprisingly, while I rate the game no higher than I did after first trying it out, it has grown on me a bit.

as i said in my post these arnt to compare sharpness, resolution or contrast. these are purely for draw distance and foliage.

No worries, I didn’t read that bit if I’m honest, was mainly picking up on your first point:

I just wanted to make others aware that the PS3 does actually look as bad as norm’s post highlighted :)

Yea, I'll be about this afternoon, and hopefully it'll let me connect

Hector, and anyone else, I will be wanting to continue getting through the campaign on co-op again tonight. Can't remember where we got up to the other night. Think we only completed mission 6....

So from around 7:30...

Bro's around tonight, it's a shame he won't get gold sub :( So I'll be stuck on system link coop.

On M7, keep wide to the right of the road to avoid enemy crossfire and then cross once you get to the base, push forward when your there because it can fail at that point if you hold back.

I should be about tomorrow night, no doubt.

Really fell out with this game tonight. Trying to evacuate the pilot and co pilot.

Co pilot was shot straight away. Then it had decided to give me a check point right before the pilot gets shot. I've not even seen this pilot yet. I can load the last checkpoint, and he gets shot instantly 8/10 times.. If I could go back to the checkpoint before that I'd be far happier. Nearly two hours it took me to get that far..

Had my first go in single player since the weekend and just didn't enjoy it. I don't like a game that requires me to have people available to play with for me to enjoy it - it's the reason I got rid of Left 4 Dead. Even though was hoping to finish campaign before trading in, think I am just going to take it in tomorrow and get Uncharted 2.

one of them is upstairs in a house, the other one was outside the house when i played that level.

what are these 'checkpoints' i've not found one yet ;)

Me 'n bro have one mission left to go.. He'd just got his 50 kill achievement :D

Hinchy, it's best not to enter to the house with the crew 'till the village has has been pretty much cleared of the reinforcements.
