Last stand is indeed quite good fun. Managed to make it only to wave 9 so far. Just far too many Eldar coming at once!
 
Managed to get past Wave 9 a couple of times today, the key seems to be destroying the platforms asap. An Eldar Player upto Level 5 can also cause havok on the horde that ends up there.

So true, I was playing with a good team yesterday, each hero, levels 5-8 and we managed to make it to wave 12 before getting overrun by Eldar Wraithlords

A level'd up Farseer is invaluable for their powers, Storm is very handy.

make sure all your squads are binded to different hotkeys! IMPORTANT
i have warp spider hero 1, guaridan squad 2 , banshee squad 3, 2nd guardian squad or the guardian squad that is currently capping as 4, 5 is warp spiders or walker or snipers, 6 is falcons /2nd veichle, 7 for suppresion cannon, 8 for dcannon and very rarely 9 :D. f1 for your building remember so you dont have to click your base to build stuff.


never get in a postion where you are going to retreat INTO their melee
retreat really early if going to lose the fight (pref b4 they reach you). Is something i usually try to do to finish off noobs is put make them retreat across the map team mate/ or some basnehee squad lays in wait and finishes.

play force commander for sm not tech marine or apoc (if new), wse or warlock for eldar and hive tyrant or lictor for nid.

watch replays tbh, don't read guides most of the guides (on dow2 official forums) are rubbish ! designed for very low skilled players, theres no set way to do anything, but theres some things you shouldn't do. a lot of skill in dow is timing

Can you choose the level of difficulty in co-op? If so, what sort of difficulty would you be looking at playing it on?

I quite fancy this myself, although I wont be able to start for a few days as I'm changing my ISP, should bring my ping down.
 
i somehow managed to mess up my campaign so had to restart, but i'd defo try co-op sometime ... let me know when and ill free up some hours

Chaos Rising looks to be quite good
You get to carry on with your DoW2 squads

You can choose to stay true to the Emperor or turn to the dark powers of Chaos and gain abilities !
