Mens fashion - Why does it suck?

Burton is great... if you have a good idea what your looking for and a bit of patience - they have some great stuff sometimes - just gotta keep checking back on their web site for it to come up...

You can look great imo without spending a fortune... but I'm not a fan of dressing cheap either - I usually spend £45-50 on a shirt and £60-100 on jeans.

I agree tho finding great stylish clothing for men seems a lot harder than the massive selection of everything imaginable that women seem to have... theres so much uninspired tat, cringe worthy "designs" or cliched "trendy" clothing...

Not sure if its because im a teenager but I find the mens selection pretty good, shops like mandmdirect, repbulic and asos all have great ranges.

Seems to me that most woman all just wear the same things.

More detailed post...

You need to know where to look. The 'high street' is #1 most of the time but if you want something special, you need to start looking around. I personally loathe Burton and a few other shops. I only use Primark for 'wear around the house items'/lectures but for going out, i am using www.asos.com - bit more unique!

Try Urban Outfitters and see what you think? Mens fashion is in no way 'sucky' and you will find the shirt you mentioned in the OP or something very similiar at another shop for at least half the price. Every brand copies each other and has their own take of it.

Primark?

I hate the styles available at Primark.

Much prefer River Island/Burton/FCUK myself or the stuff at Whiteley Village :O

I once went into Primark....reminded me of M&S.

Reads GQ but cant afford the clothes?

I hate/wont shop at Primark/Burton/Topshop etc... on a night out its like spot the shop.

Actually seen people bump into each other in clubs and go "Omg man... You buy that from top shop? ME TOO!!!" with two idiots staring at each other laughing.

:p

In the womens market they would be able to get a near exact style shirt, jacket, shoes or what ever for the high street prices, but we can't.

Agreed. I was looking to buy a pair of trainers today. It seems that men's trainers have to be ugly as ****.

Decent fashion means big investment. Either cash, or time spent finding decent shops :)

Just spent the most I ever have on a pair of jeans at £170, but they're gorgeous. Bought a desel jacket for £160 as well. I used to spend bugger all on clothes, but they wear out fast and look crap.

Consider my tuppence added :p

Ant

Best jeans I've ever seen/bought were from markets in Bangkok. They were going for around £12-15 per pair.

Of course the plane ticket cost £400, but thats another matter.... :p
