Maximum Stable Overclock On Your GPU?

your sig says 5870, and is your 4890 stable in games? you don't get restarts or graphic crash then bsod!!? if it is stable do share your method?

Yep ive sold it now but it was stable i used software to get the core to 1.32 (i think) and bios modded it up to those speeds :D

benched with my [email protected] and was scoring 9800ish in 3dmark vantage

Thats pretty impressive gurusan, was the card under water?, i only ever got to 19494, card was using stock cooler, q6600 at 3.8ghz, couldnt get any more from either on air, still have the gtx 280, thinking of adding a second one for sli, still a great card.

no but it was with a touch of voltage if I recall correctly. I'm actually thinking about going to nvidia for awhile as the 58xx series are out of my price range and I want something that has a nice quiet, rear-exhausting cooler.

Will look for a 280 or perhaps a 260 216 as they seem to clock very well. I need something else besides this wretched 3870, it was a good card in its time but 2048x1152 is no fun.

EVGA GTX295 dual pcb

MAX OC 750/1612/1242 (clock/shader/mem)
runs fine for games/benchmarks

Regular overclock: 702/1548/1242 max oc for Folding@Home which is far more demanding of the cards.

Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X

GPU @ 960MHz
RAM @ 1100MHz

Couldn't be bothered with keeping it like that, benchmarked on 3DMark then let it do its own stuff again.

Aye, im ideally looking for an xfx gtx 280 xt to match my current card, like yourself i looked at 58** series cards, (never had an ati card in 5 years of pc usage) i game at 1920x1200, mainly cod4, buying the i7 setup destroyed any budget i had for a new graphics card, hence the idea of picking up a second hand gtx 280, just hope my current thermaltake toughpower 750 psu will cope with 2 of them in sli.

;) Yeah max of card is 1075/1331 on 1.35v watercooled.

Max on sensible voltage is 1000/1300 on 1.25v. You need a lot of volts for the extra 75mhz gain.
same here 1000 on 1.25v. i haven't upped the memory because it doesn't seem to do much the performance.

the extra voltage for 75mhz isn't really worth it. but good to see.

The HD58xx cards don't seem to be starved for memory bandwidth so probably explains why there's little gain in o/c the memory much.

Just to add my card is at 900/1250. Leaving it a little while before I have a proper go at overclocking that core a bit more.
